If it's so bleedin' obvious and anyone can read your words of wisdom and how you would like IPSE to proceed, why would I bother denying anything?

Or perhaps, once again, you are dragging a valid discussion off track and off topic to raise some nebulous point of your own and to hell with everyone else.

Don't criticise IPSE unless you have an alternative, the fact that IPSE won't tell you what their proposal is is irrelevant. Criticising IPSE for not having a proposal after all this time is wrong unless you can give them an alternative to their proposal that they haven't yet told us about.

Ipse election on the horizon (I think 10 CC places ripe for the picking) for ukcontractor/ipse members who feel they are not represented to actually do something about it.

And don't forget, Ipse is member led, if you don't like the way it's run or direction you can stand for CC/BOD and make the changes yourself - we have kicked the BOD out a few times over the years

Hopefully 10 contractorUK/Ipse members will stand this year to address any grievances the group feels are not being addressed

I will endeavour to keep everyone updated on election process and declared CC candidates

I will start the count Now

Tuesday 3rd Feb - No declared candidates

Anyone even thinking of declaring we can put you in touch with a local CC member to talk about it (if you want) or even a visit to the office could possibly be arranged for London Members

I looked at PGC shortly after becoming a contractor and decided not to join. It seemed they were just insurance brokers, with a site offering a LOT of insurance ads and free "advice". I assumed they got a cut. Sorry if that is innaccurate, it was a long time ago (2006).

Just looked at IPSE. The site looks very bland, corporate and the first thing you see is an invitation to win a free iPad. Not exactly the buccaneering spirit, is it. There are 4 heads at the top (models?) advertising the fact that professional engineers all wear fleeces. Half way down, IPSE is defending the doctors now revealed as charging the NHS £1760 per day. I don't want that defended, I want it stopped.

okay, where are those tablets...
