    That chlorinated chicken stuff

A new industry briefing points to signs that the UK government is trying to “soften up” the public for lower food standards post-Brexit.
    ...

Renewed warnings have been issued from experts at the University of Sussex, City, University of London and Cardiff University, after a statement by Professor Sir Ian Boyd, the retiring Chief Scientific Advisor at Defra, said that there are no health problems with chlorinated chicken and it is a matter that should be decided by “consumer choice”.

        “Consumer choice”.

This, for a nation that needs “may contain nuts” on a packet of peanuts.

And obese. Which is also a “consumer choice”, apparently.

Maybe the Tories are on to a business winner here after all.

As I understand it, there's no health problem with chlorinated washing of chicken. The problem is the reason it's needed is the conditions further down the line, so more to do with animal welfare and preparation procedures.
And the lord said unto John; "come forth and receive eternal life." But John came fifth and won a toaster.

If poor people choose to get food poisoning, Rees Mogg will find it rather uplifting.
