If companies need people from abroad, they should commit to hiring them as employees
If those are all 'AND' statements, I agree with the zero-hours contract. These should be abolished (or at least restricted in use) for everyone, not just EU citizens.

Otherwise: no bar work, baristas, waiting staff, fruit and veg pickers and other seasonal workers, etc?

And presumably Sweden (like all EU countries) are free to apply any rules they like to non-EU immigrants, so not really relevant?

You are indeed correct. Got that slightly wrong.

However, my 'been down that road' comment still effectively stands, as there is no registered public demand (at this point) and an Act was attempted and rejected, as you say.

As migrants coming to live here... no. Why on earth should you get to migrate to an over-crowded country as a waitress?

And how is the EU to blame for how UK companies take on workers?

Since you refuse to answer the last simple question, but want to try to distract by changing the argument, maybe you could point out where it says we would need a mandatory ID card system before implementing the existing EU rules on Freedom of Movement?

                  It’s not overcrowded.

They may be on a gap year. Or using it as a stepping stone before they start their own business. Or just enjoying life, seeing the world.

But the real reason why they should, is because their country gives reciprocal rights to any Brit who wants to do the same in the opposite direction. That’s how foreign policy tends to work.

Indeed, I know Brits who will go off to Europe and earn much less money but they enjoy the change and enjoy making new friends. The key to this is reciprocal employment rights. I can't see many Brits going to Somalia or Afghanistan to take up work.

Any talk about reciprocal employment rights to a Brexiter and they will answer "If you don't like the UK the just F off and never come back."

Nursing and care work. No degree, NMW.

Better get yourself down to your local NHS to volunteer.
