I'm happy to ban yappy dogs, handbag dogs and male impotence dogs (i.e. where their owners are impotent/have small sexual organs and get a growling snorting inbred unloved creature to try to make up for their own inadequacies). But that would apply to owning dogs in general - dog owners need to exercise their dogs and need to socialise them. If the owner won't do that, they shouldn't have a dog, it's not fair on the animal.

A dog that is happy to sit at your feet and have a half of what you're having is not an issue.

Maybe it's to do with location. If you live in an inner city area swilling gnats p... sorry lager, then it might be a problem.
On the other hand, country pubs, country rules.

Since smoking was banned in pubs they all smell of farts, BO and stale beer
