you'd make more of an impact if you actually focused on the point but hey, carry on posting some picturesque stuff.

You had a point? Apologies, it's difficult to take such a virtual Narcissus very seriously.Originally posted by sasguru View Postyou'd make more of an impact if you actually focused on the point but hey, carry the posting some picturesque stuff.

Well it'll start off as a "whitish" grey Brexit which will "sound" like a "Hard Brexit", this will satisfy the "Hard Brexit" supporters but will slowly be whittled down step by step to a "blackish" "Hard Brexit", and rather like a Frog put in cold water being slowly boiled to death without knowing it, no-one will notice they've been duped until well after it happens.Originally posted by jamesbrown View PostLikely where they're heading.

Unlikely they'll achieve it, in my view. Obviously, a lot can change in the next few months with events in EU countries, but there will be a strong push within the EU against a grey Brexit. I'm with Tusk on this; there's essentially (hard) Brexit or no Brexit. Either May will fold and face the electorate or she won't. It's going to be interesting to watch, but my money is still on a hard Brexit, regardless of what HMG is planning

Yes, but Brexit means Brexit. It means leaving the EU, not paying £350-375 million a week for access to trade and getting some of it back in a rebate, not having open borders, not having to vote to agree any EU law before putting into local law and not having to agree with socialists like Cameron and Merkel, oh and the whole thing is Jeremy Corbyn's fault anyway because basically if something is wrong, the hand wringing wright wingers will whinge that it is caused by socialists (at the same time claiming that it's the "elite" who are responsible too). Very Trump of them.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

If you didn't have several (thousand) posts saying otherwise, then the first half of this would be pretty much spot on. That's what we are after. How much we get is down to a 2 way discussion which is why publishing a paper saying this is what we are going to get would be a complete waste of time.Originally posted by WTFH View PostYes, but Brexit means Brexit. As for the second half, I would blame Blair, his lovey mates in the Lib Dems, and the likes of Branson who don't actually want to live in the UK but want it to be part of one world to keep his business interests working for him. I wouldn't really call them elite but they all do have a lot more cash than me so I suppose they would imagine themselves as elite.Comment

Can you name a recent Tory PM that hasn't been defenestrated by the EU?

It'll take a lot longer than that. The next election will be fought as the UK moves into a "transitional deal", which will of course have "Hard Brexiteers" gnashing their teeth, but they won't have much choice, and the Tories will be held together by the prospect of the "Promised Land" appearing in 2025.Originally posted by jamesbrown View PostSay around May 2020?
