Originally posted by WTFH View PostAnyone with a modicum of intelligence would know we're all victims of the scam. No matter how much the Brexit supporters talk about remainers, they are refusing to accept the position this country is now in, and are still trying to blame others
Remain didn't win, get over it. Stop harping on about how bad it might have been, what might have happened, etc. Stop blaming remain, and let's see what this promised nirvana that you are cheering on actually turns into. At the minute, it's turning into nothing, hence the need of the elitists who voted for Brexit to do a Trump and spin the story around

We're most probably going to have a soft Brexit where we pay to access the single market, with movement of labour (a bit like Switzerland now), not movement of people.
Anything else would have been economic suicide.
But a certain damage has been done already to the UK's political and economic reputation, due to idiots like Johnson.Comment

We will get control over immigration, probably in the movement of labour as i've been banging on about and as you finally recognise. We'll have to agree to some EU laws to get this and not to some others. This is what the UK Government has been after all along. Looks like that's the way it's going.“The period of the disintegration of the European Union has begun. And the first vessel to have departed is Britain”Comment

He didn't realise to get what you want in the EU you need to convince other countries who feel the same way to back you before you all negotiate with the rest.
In other words you need to play the EU game to get what you want.
Obviously it didn't help having mostly UKIP MEPs in the European parliament who do feck all."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

The country is in a rather good osition, thank you. EU states are crumbling and we will get a good deal whether Tusk and Merkel like it or not.
Yeah let's bend over and have an extra hard Brexit because we're mega hard. And our economic position is, as my 7 year old would say, mega good.
Hard Brexit now !Last edited by sasguru; 3 December 2016, 23:10.Hard Brexit now!

Unlikely they'll achieve it, in my view. Obviously, a lot can change in the next few months with events in EU countries, but there will be a strong push within the EU against a grey Brexit. I'm with Tusk on this; there's essentially (hard) Brexit or no Brexit. Either May will fold and face the electorate or she won't. It's going to be interesting to watch, but my money is still on a hard Brexit, regardless of what HMG is planningComment
