Well, the plunges in projected revenue that was used as a reason as to why they could be self sufficient, should be a clue. The Chunt of Chunts. -
Well to be fair to her, that WAS their best hope of staying in the EU, for had they got Independence first time around the Spanish (amongst others) would most certainly have blocked their route in.Originally posted by PurpleGorilla View Poston the lie that staying in the UK was the best way to stay in the UK (according to Sturgeon anyhow).

Undoubtably, and the economics looks worse now than they did then.Originally posted by MrMarkyMark View PostWell, the plunges in projected revenue that was used as a reason as to why they could be self sufficient, should be a clue.
Personally, economics be damned, if you are for independence then you are for independence 24/7 not when it's nice and cosy and your mum makes you a packed lunch.Comment

EU leaders 'not bluffing' over Brexit terms, warns Malta's PM - BBC News
EU leaders are not "bluffing" when they say the UK will be left without access to the single market when it leaves the bloc if there is no free movement of people, Malta's prime minister says.

from my understanding of CETA, the Canadians get almost tariff free access to the single market and this is without FOM. So the really big one that is not covered is bank passporting. So we start with a fully agreed ratified CETA deal and trade off benefits and costs from that basis. It really isn't rocket science.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostEU leaders 'not bluffing' over Brexit terms, warns Malta's PM - BBC News

My point has always been that if it had gone ahead, there was no money, the poor and vulnerable would suffer. The Chunt of Chunts.Comment

The might have needed some IMF help, but thr rest of the UK would have helped them. We gave the Irish £10bn when they were in the tulip.Originally posted by MrMarkyMark View PostFine to say that if you can financially absorb the hit.

You seem to think that England is rolling in it, when the reality is that there are record deficits funded by foreigners who are getting jittery.Originally posted by PurpleGorilla View PostThe might have needed some IMF help, but thr rest of the UK would have helped them. I reckon theres a bigger probability of the whole UK economy collapsing and needing IMF help than there is of a successful hard Brexit.
The former would suit me nicely.
