Amazon purchases for flat rate VAT scheme

Hi,

I am wondering if Amazon purchases would satisfy the requirements for flat rate VAT scheme, as follows:

It must be a single purchase of capital goods with a VAT-inclusive price of £2,000 or more. That doesn't mean you are restricted to claiming back the VAT on a single item - for example, you could buy a pizza oven, fridge and dishwasher, as long as you buy them at the same time from the same supplier and the price is more than £2,000 including VAT.

And fancy giving us a clue what you are buying for comment? Never ceases to amaze us how people ask this question and when they actually list what they want they have loaded it up for no apparent reason just to break the 2k mark when they didn't need to buy it, or at that price in the first place.

The example you quoted from HMRC (I assume) would not be allowable for an IT Company.

You can't buy a £600 PC and load the order up with white goods to push it over £2K.

I've recently made an IT purchase (from whom doesn't matter), the biggest single item was a smidge over 2k. That's what got me over the FRS mark (although had I got a monitor with it that would have been included as well, I think).

I don't think people trafficing is allowed as an expense...

Where is that ssd going as it won't go into the MacBook air plus you probably should go for a crucial drive ocz seem to get a fair few bad reviews

I can see what you are doing but this purchase seems to be for the sake of it rather than as a sensible investment with clear purpose
