thank you that means alot and as always advice here is appreciated and never dispute that at all.

its just what he said in regards to the solicitor thing and wanting to compensate for loss of business etc... on 2 projects when actually there is no loss.

Exactly hence why most of this is just hot air and nothing much to worry about. Not a nice situation granted but see through all his guff and you will see there isn't much substance.

Thanks all. Even if there was a loss of business, thats the business world reality - you make and lose. But again, all work done for this specific deadline in advanced.

irrespective of the outcome, I still would buy you all a drink and dinner

Hmmmmmm...... Theres been debate about this one but I think the old opt-out thing is generally considered IR35 neutral anyway, so you might as well have remained opted in.

In this case, you might have had a tilt at getting the agency to cough up for those two weeks. Not so sure now although you say you dont want to.

Personally, if it was me, I'd bill for it, let the agency sort it out. They're going to go and try and get the client to pay which is going to wind him up even more - cracking laugh to be had. Might even get the agency to pay up.

                Thanks matey

indeed it was purely for the IR35 reason and also this quote:

Contractors should also expect to see a clause in the opt-out from the agency that clarifies that the regulations don’t apply and that the client does not control the contractor.

                      So it does. Interesting that.

I'm sure someone else will show you some links that argue the opposite though.
