Left client due to his conduct towards me, now threatens me
just checked. yes, I did sign the opt out regulations from agency
just to clarify, the quote I posted was directly from the client, not the agency
The end client can't sue you though, there's no contractual nexus which is precisely why they put an agency in the chain in the first place so you can't sue for employment rights!
great. so he cant sue me or "file" anything against me for "loss of business" even though, there is no loss of business and I delivered everything, and so much more and ahead of schedule
furthermore, he has plenty of time to find someone to continue the work and has another team from his "business partner" side of things to do the work if needs be. so again, no excuse there.
no thats just it. what i meant was that i was totally angry etc... but completed all the work and left, never came back and told the agency i wouldnt either. there is a 2 week notice period but i didnt give that because of the situation. the agency also never said anything about this but instead supported me and offered a pay increase to which i declined.
whilst I dont mind not getting paid for the past 1.5 weeks, still roughly the same as a 2 week notice period. nothing was signed directly with the client either.
Personally, I'd just blank the client. You've obviously made up your mind that you are going to walk away without demanding payment so that should be the end of it. There is zero point engaging in an argument with the client and/or the agent because there is nothing in it for you or your business except a load of grief.
If they file a court case against you then you can talk to them, otherwise just get on with your life and ignore them.

Thanks wanderer. indeed i didnt communicate with the client at all today. i just left it.
still though, it worries me about the threat. my reputation is great throughout the industry on many levels. sadly we all cant have 100% but i have always been professional in all my career and has been said by the agency too.
interesting. the client praises me alot at first then after this day... does this.
The man is a bully and is ticked because you walked - he's just shouting because he can't do anything else and if he's that tight he certainly won't take it any further as it would cost money.

WCS
Just remember that he thinks he's shouting at you but really he's just shouting at himself.
thank you all. that support means alot to me.
its like he has other companies involved and are "best friends" and makes money from them and others too.... then to threaten with what he said does worry me.
