Nah, don't worry about it. He's all p155 and vinegar as me Mammy used to say...

Btw, the next time he calls, tell him that you're recording the conversation (and do it if you're in the mood ) and then see what happens..

It's a good job he isn't doing this because you rebuffed him after he'd touched your front bottom because then he would be in all kinds of trouble.

funny. he tried to make me go permenant but I said no for a few reasons (my own career reasons and money being the factor)
he also wanted someone else on board that I would train up so I wrote a job ad on what is required in terms of the skillsets. obviously nothing much happened but will now because im not there.

just re-reading what he wrote in that email today (quoted in this thread) and what he said to me yesterday really boils my blood and have never spoken to him in any disrespectful or ill mannered way ever. so yes, im angry/upset but also worried with what he said in the email today.

              Well apperently, he could continue:

you would technically be in breach of contract and the other party can claim compensation for damages suffered as a result of your breach. Whether they can actually claim the things they have listed is another question and it is a matter of determining whether they were incurred as a direct consequence of your breach and if they were not too remote and reasonably foreseeable. I would not expect that they could claim for all of them but they could for some. I presume that is what he is referring to when he said he is waiting for his solicitor to determine what he can actually claim.

Not a nice situation, probably his legal claim will come to nought. Next time I would grit your teeth and work through your notice. The contract world is full of difficult people unfortunately.
                I'm alright Jack

Or give notice, then suddenly fall ill....

indeed. I know.... but again, its how i was made to feel and got told to do something which i did, then contridicts it and im suppose to be the advisor too. cant win either way and did what I was told to do on all angles. *sigh*

                    still a worry though

Sounds all bluff and bluster to me. It costs money to sue and he's unlikely to have it followed through as the return is not likely to be good enough given you said you finished all the work. I'm assuming you can prove that you did?
Plus your contract is with the agency and he can't really sue you for breach. The agency could but they'd not likely be as emotional about the situation.....and probably have a better legal department than the client which would allow them to rebuff him

Last perm job I left I left under less than great circumstances (left in first week with a weeks notice....which was in the contract). Had all sorts of threats about p***ing off the CIO and how it's not a good thing to do blah blah blah. Good work speaks for itself so from what you've said you'll be fine. There are a lot more companies out there than he could possibly have influence over.
Notch this one up to experience and find the next one....oh......and work your notice next time
