Can the Mod's check if they're allowed to post the latest update from the Police? A plea has been entered for 2 of the fraud charges but more are pending by late December.

No problem posting any updates with the case on here, the only problem is posting gossip or facts about the case which may be heard as evidence in court. I don't have an update, if you do please post it otherwise PM me and I can call them again and ask for an update.

Just waiting on a response from the Police in regards to this. Making sure they're okay for the information to be shared as there are further (related?) charges to be filed yet.

EDIT: Received a response from the Police and they have asked that the information is not posted on a public internet forum for the time being.

          Upton Bankrupt see link

Well I guess I can kiss goodbye to the money he owed me from the currency scheme, I've just seen this in case anyone missed it he's been declared bankrupt.

Darren Upton of Upton & Co Accountants declared bankrupt
Some people are like slinkys, totally pointless but the thought of pushing them down a flight of stairs never fails to put a smile on your face.

If you're a member of the PCG contact their legal hotline for help on this, since Uptons were on their PSL I'd at least expect them to take a bit of interest in this turn of events.

Not as yet but it will be hilarious if they do. I'll tell them to take it off the large sum of money he owes my company. In fact I'd like to know who they are so they can add me to the list of people he owes money to.

This is exactly what I was thinking, you have to laugh
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Was that legally owing you money?

If it was owing you money legally then you go on the list of creditors who will see nothing if there is anything left, as other larger creditors tend to have more rights then you.

This begs the question, do the insolvency people know about the other clients that are owed money or are they seeking funds for those owed from the currency scheme oblivious to other concerns? Surely the police should be halting the insolvency practioners' activities until the court case is over.
