      I've just rung them (only 18 minutes on hold!) because my SOs were not showing up.

      Apparently, they were there on the system and will be paid, but they are still experiencing glitches with the business banking which they hope to sort out this week.

      They are also meant to be bringing back the facility to transfer from the reserve account to the main account, which she says should be this week.

        What's the deal with phoning now? I hardly ever do but have always got straight through to someone I can understand... have Santander replaced the call centres, or is it just there are a way more people calling than normal due to the mess?

        I wanted to phone and ask about opening a foreign currency account, but now I'm not sure even though I have had no problems at all with the new system - entered my details and everything worked.

          Here's an alternative view.

          I've had no problems with the change in security and found the process very straightforward. All my data was there and the new look is better.

          The only problem I had was the reported inability to move money between the main and reserve accounts. I called the help line, quickly spoke to a nice Scottish lady who said straight away this was because the accounts were not linked and she did this there and then. She told me I'd have to wait to the next day but now, everything is fine - I'm moving money like there's no tomorrow.

          Might buy some shares in Santander ..

            I agree. If you followed the instructions, if was reasonably easy to create your new log on details. The new personal id could be left as defaulted or changed for something personal.

            My gripe is like yours, I couldnt move money from the reserve account to the current and get the message the two arent linked. I havent had the opportunity to complain but I will be doing that by phone and writing on Friday (dont ask why the delay).

            If they think Im phoning every time I want to move money from the reserve to the current, they're having a laugh. I'll be shifting 50k+ out of abbey asap and will only use the current account for the time being then look to close.

            The FSB have a free business banking arrangement with the co op. Abbey can get to **** after this cock up! Serves them right if everyone else does the same.

              Agreed, process was straightforward, and less onerous than I expected. In fact one might ask why bother. As for the look being "better", how exactly? It's subjective at best. But I'm happy for you.

              That various people have been told different things - which at best is incompetence, at worst, a lie - isn't reassuring. That you needed it linking in the first place is bizarre. Why *wouldn't* you auto link these as part of the migration?

                  Has anyone tried to access two different accounts? Set up one with no probs and got in ok. Set up other but don't work although I was very careful about recording the details.

                  Now I can't access the first account that was ok, it gave me the same personal Id number for both, does that sound right?
