Not sure why Abbey staff are telling us moving money is not permitted anymore... I tried moving money this morning and just now and it works (well it was only £1).

Can I just chip in and say I have two separate Abbey Business Banking Log-ins for different companies. They are both not working. I was told that they did not migrate some users from the old to new system ... 7-10 days to be able to set up the new system. We can bank using telephone banking ... but at an hour a time to get through I think not.

I sincerely hope that they have not limited transfers between reserve and current accounts - that would make banking unworkable. I keep a small float in a current account and the rest in a reserve account ... moving money across when I need to pay large bills. It sounds to me like a scam to stop businesses keeping money in interest earning accounts. Part of the ongoing undermining of services from a bank that clearly does not want business customers any more.

I've got TWO Business Bank a/c

          This is f**ked!

I've got TWO current accounts plus my reserve account showing on my Abbey 'Homepage'! They seem to be duplicates, but it doesn't fill me with confidence.

Oh and I can't move money and my standing orders have gone too.

            Good grief!!!

And I thought perhaps I was one of just a few unlucky ones...
            What an absolute disaster.
I treid to get online yesterday pm to do my normal monday bill payments (actually wage payments for my staff) and my god - WHAT HAVE THEY DONE!!!

I had exactly the same frustrating circular filling in of forms and new passcodes only to be told eventually that I'd been locked out - so I phoned them... half and hour on hold and exactly the same answer as previous writers on this forum.

I really do hope someone at Santander is aware of this utter debacle. I've been thinking about changing banks for a while seeing as Abbey Business (he laughs!) seem unable to offer business loans... and getting overdrafts is a joke too. This has simply cemented my position. LoydsTSB seem to have a pretty good offer, but the CO-OP bank operates a very similar account to Abbey - I expect slightly more conventionally and with options to bank loans too. anyone got any feedback they can share?

I'm surprised 'The Register' haven't picked up on this yet.

You could always email The Register's editor with an exclusive.
If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

I've emailed a couple of reporters that had posted stoires on Abbey before. And the BBC's "working lunch".

                  For what good it'll do.
                  Regards, J.

Just spoke to Abbey to tell them I have issues and I was told that it should of all been sorted by now and she has logged my issue.

Might just be quicker and easier to open a new account elsewhere...

I just spoke to Abbey. Chap told me "everything is down, try at 2pm" even though their webs(h)ite is actually still 'working'...

Actually feel sorry for the people in the call centres for once. They have to take the sh*t for poor project management, poor development, poor testing. Why oh why did Abbey think it was a good idea to perform a 'big bang' upgrade of their site?
