Typical....Originally posted by d000hg View PostIt's being covered on Working Lunch as I type this
Abbey gave a token "only a few people affected, will be fixed soon" response.
How about just saying sorry ? That does actually do wonders!!!
"Only a few" is so annoying when we know it was much bigger than that....Comment

Absolute garbage! My reserve account now says its linked to a card number I dont have and that its view only!
I cant move any money out of the reserve (and why would I want to move it into it anyway?)
Only a few people affected my arse.
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

I've been with Barclays for 15yrs, never had a single problem with them and their internet banking is awesome. The cycle of life: born > learn > work > learn > dead.Comment

can't move money or make payments.
Fortunately there is enough in my current account for this month.
I guess I'll have to resort to the old cheque book to pay myself this month.
now if only I could remember how to write a cheque

Abbey
I can't make any transfers and my direct debits have gone as well. When I logged in last night and this morning I found that I can see other people's accounts as well (two other accounts have appeared). I've taken the screenshots and sent to the Financial Ombudsman and The Register. I can't get through to Abbey so sent an online complaint (2nd of the week) and asked them to contact me urgently as I can now see other people's accounts. Needless to say no call yet. Just been into a branch and they dont have a business section and offered me a business banking starter pack. I politely declined the kind offer.Comment

For anyone who's a member of the FSB, I'd advise you seriously investigate this option.

I've just spent 20 minutes on hold with abbey before getting through to an admittedly nice lady. Told her I appreciate she's front line but whoever PM'd this 'upgrade' needs sacking.
She admitted many more people (than Abbey admit to) are affected by this. They've had to extend their telephone line opening to 10 pm at nights and, will be available Saturday and Sundays until its sorted.
Told her I'd be closing the account asap because of this fiasco and that I wanted to move all the money in the business reserve to the current account which was linked before the 'upgrade' but isnt now.
She's transferred the money but I still wont be able to draw any money or transfer money or make bill payments from the business current account 'until its sorted.' 'But we do have people in india working on it'! D'oh!!
Apparently you can still use atm's to withdraw cash up to your daily limit.
Class.I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

I was on the phone this morning; I could tell the call centre rep was from the non-business side, and I could hear her being coached in the background by her supervisor. Absolutely bricking it, she was. I got put through the wringer with security questions before we could even proceed to get the passcode and registration details sent out to me. She asked for my DOB twice. Then every question going re. my debit card. Then she asked for my bank a/c no. “Christ, I dunno, I’m driving in the car!” I said. “We can’t proceed unless you tell us your bank a/c no.” was the unhelpful reply. I thought for a second and took a wild guess – I was correct. But what a farce, all completely seat-of-pants stuff. I never knew until I Googled all the money blogs how bad this bank is; I think I’ve just been extremely lucky in the last 3 years that there have been no mishaps until now. Thought for the day: When will Al Qaeda concentrate on blowing up call centres?"My God, it's huge!!"
