The MSC legislation seems to have spooked a lot of agencies. I left one contact a couple of years ago because the agent would no longer deal with MP at renewal time. I have recently had the same issue with my current contract (different agency). This time I decided to stay put and go back Ltd. as I like it where I am. I do have reservations about the loan scheme but probably would have stuck with MP given the choice.

As an aside do those of you who have gone back Ltd. think "our cards are marked" and are you expecting an increased likelyhood of an IR35 inspection. If so what are you doing as I would prefer not to join the PCG, but having some form of inspection/appeal cost insurance might be handy.

If any one does want to reply it might be best to PM me rather than add off-topic comments to this thread unless others think that the information might be useful to everybody.

Again the question I asked a previous poster where the agency would not accept MP, was that due to being self-employed, my current agency wouldn't accept that either but they would accept the employed arm...are you aware of this part of MP...

just got a reply from my MP, quite a positive response for a Labour MP:

"Thank you for your most recent letter about the problems caused by section 58 of the finance act....blah blah
I have therefore written again to the chancellor about this matter to highlight your situation as an example of the unintended effects this legislation is having. I will be back in touch with you when I hear back from them."

Interesting even a Labour MP is using the word RETROSPECTIVE, I always thought the government termed it as clarify?
