There are quite alot of people who would be pleased to see me dead : I have a god given talent for really upseting people who cross me. However in the months (6?) I sat next to SantaClaus at clientco it was fun all the way! More and more of the SantaClaus types have left clientco to be replaced with muppets....Comment

Just joined bulletin board after reading many replies. I have just written to my MP as many others have done. My MP is George Osbourne, so it will be interesting what response I get...Comment

Please let us know what response you get.
What years were you with montpelier? Are you still with them? What is your ballpark exposure? Can you pay? Have you purchased a CTD?Comment

Ctd
I just wanted to confirm I have/havent understood correctly how the process works on the HMRC site. If I want to purchase a CTD, it needs to be at least £500? Furthermore, I need to send a cheque and a covering letter, or can I just do a bank transfer?
Thanks.Comment

I only picked up the Guardian on Saturday to have a look through the Guide arts & leisure section, but this story caught my eye in Business:

One in the eye for Hector it would seem, and did make me considering Lloyds recent ownership issues.Comment

Petition on No 10 website
In order to help with future lobbying activities etc. I am wondering if it would help to have a specific allegation in the public domain. The most visible way I can think of doing this would be a petition on the No 10 website.
What do others think about this in principle? (not the specific wording)
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to..
Hold an inquiry into Section 58 Finance Act 2008
Details:
Parliament was given misleading and incomplete information when Section 58 was debated. Had they been presented with the true facts of the case, then it would have been clear that the use of retrospective legislation was merely an expedient for prior maladministration on the part of HMRC.
Given that Section 58 will inflict financial ruin on hundreds of ordinary working families, the Government at least owes it to these people to carry out a review. After all, if the Government has nothing to hide, then they should welcome an opportunity to defend the legislation.Comment
