So far I have had good communications from montp - but I believe they are swamped with alot of questions while trying to prepare accounts for 05/06 and prepare for a JR. I would prefer them to fight HMRC than communicate with me!

IMO anything from Warr & Co is likely to be biased.

However this gets to court it will be a long fight and will probably go to Europe. Will take years. Is there a better option to waiting?
Brill, I dont want to be on death row for years, not knowing if and when I will ever go to the chamber!! I want it over so I can get on with my life....If Warr and co can provide a sound exit strategy at minimal cost then Im in....I dont have any loyalty, this is purely a business transaction for me not an emotional one...Agreed about their efforts on fighting HMRC but seriously how long would it take to send a group email or mail merge a standard letter outlining the approach etc?

PS - Ive mailed on a number of occassions, nada....and to be honest, it shouldnt be me chasing. there should be transparency and comms over such a serious matter

I cannot cover my complete liability at the moment but will get a CTD to cover as much as I can and am trying to determine how to cover the rest.
Advice from who - someone who has no idea of the technicalities of the MTM scheme -

      Yeah - helpful!

Apparantly there are only about 5 people qualified in the whole country to give an opinion on this ..... so unless you plan on going to one of those - you are wasting your money

Why do you continue to defend the indefensible? Do you have some allegiance to Montp?

MontP's tax planning has put a considerable amount of people in severe risk of financial ruin (I potential owe £150K) and yet they do not deem it necessary to contact us and provide us any information about what they are doing to resolve the issue. Instead I (like everyone else reading this) am forced to use a public forum to try to clean info as to what is going on. You forget we are "clients" of this company, so returning of phone calls/emails + a general update i.e. a letter explaining the situation, should be a minimum level of service they should be providing us.

I have been very persistent and have managed to talk to people at Montp, and to be honest, nothing they have said has put my mind to rest.

I am not surprised they are swamped with questions, as everyone is asking them the same basic questions. A simple solution is not to wait for 1600 people to call them individually, but for them to provide their clients regular updates.

Preparing accounts for the revenue should not be taking 100% of their time, I 1st ask for this to be done 2 years ago, when hectors lot wrote to me and asked for them. MontP said they "did not deem it necessary at that time". If they are under resourced, employed more people with the fees they have charged.

As you will no doubt have gathered, unlike you, I am far from happy with MontP, and judging from conversations with other schemers, I am in a large majority.

I'm sticking with MTM in the battle, and will do as they recommend but in the interim I am getting advice on how to raise the capital to pay for my liability in the event that MTM lose, nothing else.

I personally would not risk having a tax liability (especially mine) accumulate a hefty interest over the next few years on the grounds that MTM win and you do not need to be a tax expert to realise that this is not in their favour.

I agree with maddog and unfortunately whatever Montp's reasons are for not having dialogue with us lot, they are potentially signing their own death warrant. In the absence of information, people (human nature) will turn to a source that offers what is perceived as some help. Now if that help happens to be in the guise of Warr and co. and enough people go the Warr and co. route I presume it would seriously jeopardise montp's position in the eyes of HMRC and/or the courts....As ultimately warr and co. clients would be going to war against montp.....

I'm guessing the vast majority of the members don't yet realise the outcome of the recent BN66 bill going through - when they do and the demands hit the letterboxes in July (?) the sh*t will hit the fan - maybe Montpellier want the bad news to come from HMRC ?

Montp might be hoping they can resolve this before the assessments go out to stop any SH*T hitting any fans, maybe....?? Then nobody (apart from us lot) is none the wiser...

Im also P*ssed off they are holding new scheme workshops/sessions in London...Why the F**K arent they holding a session in London for existing scheme users where they can explain what their plans are and answer questions?....They should be devoting their efforts on existing customers at a time like this, not punting for more business!!! that to me speaks volumes...if they dont give a SH*T about us, then why should I give a SH*T about being loyal to them...simple really...

                Small and mad dog! :-)

About as helpful as your response.

Give me the "5" names and I will get them checked out, the same way I checked out the guy I have engaged.

From the conversations I have already had wit my tax advisor, I am not wasting my (or the 9 other schemers who are sharing the cost) money in taking this advice. If you are under the same pressure as me to get this resolved, I wish you well with what ever approach you are taking to solve the problem. Unless you have a better strategy that you'd lke to share with people, maybe you should refrain from commenting ?

Madder still - but what the heck, it's the w/end and the tax man is not taxing that, just yet !

Don’t quote me on this but isn't the bill being reviewed by the House of Lords or some committee who could potentially overturn it prior to July?, although unlikely.

Maybe Mont are waiting for this decision to communicate? However I am in the majority who think that Montp's comms (lack of it) has been unbelievably frustrating. This was one of the main reasons I left while ago and thought I would never have to deal with them again, and here I am having to rely on them for info again!

I agree that there is usually no point in emailing MP - they seem to ignore all mails! When I've phoned them up in the past they have always been helpful though.
