Montpelier don't know why HMRC are withdrawing some people's APNs. There doesn't appear to be a discernible pattern and HMRC haven't given any explanations.

It doesn't seem to be in response to the letters of representation.

    All very strange.

Well remember I've had 2 sets of warning letters. First set mentioned partnership and then they got withdrawn. Then I received a "tax you avoided" letter. Followed by APNs. Just wondering if they are withdrawing any relating to "partnership".

Will this make a difference to any appeals? Obviously HMRC are doing this for a reason, were these withdrawals/renewals made after the meeting with HMRC took place?

Did your APNs mention partnership or you ?
          The partnership.

I sent the letters last weekend. There was a single working day between receipt and HMRC withdrawing the APN's.

Montpelier did mention that some APNs had the wrong DOTAS scheme reference number on them.

              The SRN should be 64863085

That was my plan if Scotland had won independence. Still think those votes were rigged :-)
The UK has many reciprocal TAX relationships with many countries unfortunately - so they can hunt you

My APN envelop also landed yesterday just in time for weekend to digest it. It seems to have got all 4 years of APN in one go. 04,05,06,07/08.
Will be forwarding to MP. Let's see what happen of withdrawal once I have sent MP reply.

There is a difference between a Partner payment notice (PPN) and Accelerated payment notice (APN).

Is it possible that the withdrawn notices are PPN's?

                      APN reject/withdrawl

It's about 2 weeks since I sent the Montified 'please reject APN' letters to HM. Nothing back yet. Might have to call the blaggards and check. Think they have to respond in 30 days - yes?
