Yes, paying an APN stops further interest accruing. It's exactly the same as making a payment on account.

Got my APN warning and have found your thread. Want to sign up to NTRT and have tried to convince half a dozen other contractors like me that are in the same boat. None of them seem convinced it is worth doing as they all say MtM will sort everything out. Can someone explain to me that joining NTRT is a separate fight from MTM? Or have I got it all wrong. Thanks

MTM and NTRT are tackling the issue using two distinct approaches.

Why wouldn't you want to cover off all angles!

NTRT has a big membership now and will only be representing members. So if MTM fail then you'll be potentially left high and dry and a big bill.

        No brainer really.

Staggering!!! Highly paid contractors quibbling over a few hundred quid that could end up being their lifeline. Tight F***ers, to be honest dont convince em, leave them to it! They havent earnt the right for anyone on this forum to have to SELL this solution to them, were not selling a second hand car here!

Quite right. These are contractors probably earning more in a day than it costs to join. They are being invited to get in the only lifeboat available and are quibbling! Phuk'm.

I suppose I was too polite.

Then again if a few words can convince more people to join then I'm all for it.

Alcohol numbs me most nights anyway since 2008 so I'm not that bothered.

Perhpas they should have tackled evasion from the get go instead of grasping at the lower hanging fruit that was perfectly legal... No retrospection required for evasion is there?
                Let the financial healing commence

Ditto... Early on a bottle of red seemed like a good escape.

I will join tomorrow and see if I can get a couple of the guys I know to join up as well. Hopefully I can do this and that will mean some more funds for NTRT.

For some of the guys I know they just think the battle is lost and the case going to the EUropean court they feel is a joke. For me it is all a big struggle that plays on my mind day after day, which I am sure it is for a lot of others on this forum. Fingers crossed the NTRT route may get a result. Well good luck to everyone.

NTRT have launched a FTTT. Those who do not join will miss out if that succeeds.

They should be aware that NTRT might stop admitting new members.

If you sign up, I'll email you Thursday's newsletter. This might convince the other guys.

Incidentally, the case going to the European Court has already been lost. Strasbourg threw it out a couple of months ago.
