Interesting point. However it won't be any different to this forum.Originally posted by nevergiveup View PostWould it not be possible to setup another forum for ALL NTRT members?
The difference with the TAA forum is every member has been vetted by sight of appropriate documentation.
This could be done with a generic NTRT forum - but it's a lot more work than we have resources for at the moment.'Orwell's 1984 was supposed to be a warning, not an instruction manual'. -

One advantage is that there are several threads- which makes no difference with the volume of posts here.Originally posted by SantaClaus View PostInteresting point. However it won't be any different to this forum.

Another is the light moderation - almost anything goes. Only one person has been supid enough to upset the TAA mods so far. Guess who....

Sigh. No - we've corresponded several times. Lurking on CUK has been fine whilst the information flowed, now there's nothing to see.Originally posted by DonkeyRhubarb View PostI notice you only joined CUK 2 days ago so I hope I'm not replying to a HMRC stooge.
Doesn't really help with more immediate matters. i.e today is APN deadline day for me at least. The implications of paying/not paying (fines etc) and how that plays with the MP JR would be common to all NTRT members. I'd be surprised if it has not been mentioned at all in the other place. I don't know if you've burnt your relationship with MP now, but my correspondance with them suggests they're no-longer as forthcoming with advice as they used to be.NTRT will still be issuing newsletters to all our members.
I'll look forward to the NTRT newsletter and keep my fingers crossed there will still be some effort put into the non-TAA, non-property members.Comment

Have you sent letters of representation to challenge the APNs?Originally posted by nearlyover View PostDoesn't really help with more immediate matters. i.e today is APN deadline day for me at least. The only 100% guaranteed way to avoid surcharges/penalties is to pay the APNs by the due date. (Sending letters of representation will, in effect, extend the due date.)
Joining the Montpelier JR should prevent HMRC being able to enforce payment of the APNs but there is no guarantee that it will stop surcharges/penalties eventually being incurred.
At the moment Montpelier haven't given a definite date when the JR application will be submitted. All they're saying is it will be soon.Comment

They are absolutely snowed under. They are dealing with around 700 people who've received APNs, and there are far fewer staff than there used to be 2 or 3 years ago.Originally posted by nearlyover View Postmy correspondance with them suggests they're no-longer as forthcoming with advice as they used to be.Comment

If you look at it the other way the fact they haven't just closed up shop and ran away is in itself remarkable... They can't have anything like the same amount of income yet are still supporting former scheme members....Originally posted by DonkeyRhubarb View PostThey are absolutely snowed under. Yes, they are not like the majority of promoters. Contractor schemes were never their only line of business.Originally posted by eek View PostIf you look at it the other way the fact they haven't just closed up shop and ran away is in itself remarkable... Indeed! A big thanks to WG! I still hope WG will post here sometime. APN Due date & Representation
Unfortunately, they don't always extend the due data, I'm still waiting for a response from the representation (obviously HMRC send it second class!). I was informed that the due date is going to stay the same when I spoke to them on the phone about when the response will be sent.Originally posted by DonkeyRhubarb View PostHave you sent letters of representation to challenge the APNs?
