I just died. Not famous yet, it's true but will keep working on it from beyond the grave.

Most artists only achieve fame after they die. It's just a matter of time

            RIP Jerry Pournelle: https://www.jerrypournelle.com/chaosmanor/passings/ https://whatever.scalzi.com/2017/09/...rry-pournelle/

I used to read his Chaos Manor column in Byte in the days when we got information from printed magazines. TBH, I mainly read it because I was bemused that somebody could display such a ridiculous degree of entitlement with what seemed to be a complete lack of self awareness, but there was also the odd useful thing about some new piece of kit he'd obtained by calling up the manufacturer and demanding they send it to him for free

Used to read his novels knocking on for 40 years ago.

He & Niven were "advisors" to Ronnie when he was prez.

Which must rank with the presidential soothsayer advising on meeting with Gorby in Iceland.

He had a negative bluety on a quackhandle and was quadraspazzed on a lifeglug.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

Spoiler alert for those who haven't got around to seeing The Sopranos in the ten years since it ended: also played Phil Leotardo, the last character to be (seen to be) murdered therein
