Clarity Umbrella - what's going on?

Sure. But there's no indication that Clarity would ever be involved in such schemes simply because the parent company is based in Cyprus. I'd suggest not acting hastily.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation! -
You have the option of big brands with no offshore entities or the option of this new Clarity not announced structure.
Removing any bias people have towards Lucy, particularly in favour of her as she seems a good egg, would certainly lead me to be leaving Clarity for a more established brand given the news that was only found out coincidentally by a post here. You know you would do the same if you were using them and found out this way, so there is no point pretending otherwise.Comment

Why on earth would a professional business tell the world what they were thinking of doing before doing it, or while they are in the confidentiality stages of contract negotiation?
Or, put it another way, imagine you had an interview for a role that you wanted. Would you post on here the details of the role, who it was through, how much it was paying, giving others a chance of applying for it?

Whilst I am sure no funny schemes are being offered, it is not unheard of companies disappearing under funny circumstances without paying the deducted NI/tax to HMRC, and HMRC demanding the tax and NI from the individuals. This was rather common during the 1990s and 2000s wild-west yearsOriginally posted by NotAllThere View Post

You are using techniques to distract from the fact the negotiations occurred in May to July 2025, many weeks ago. Live in your dreamworld as you wish but don't expect others to. I'm leaving Clarity, as will anybody with knowledge of what has often happened in these types of situations in the past. You do you, although in this case you have no skin in the game and bias towards the business.Comment

It's incredibly easy for any employee to check the NI and PAYE tax remitted to HMRC using HMRC's online portal. So it's simple to cross-check figures with one's payslip and own estimates.Originally posted by luxCon View Post

Certainly, when I was a brolly worker I checked the values on every payslip. It only takes a couple of minutes.
Of course this doesn't cover employer NI payments, but that's not the worker's responsibility.Comment

I wasn't personally involved in the negotiations, but you are stating that you know for a fact when the negotiations took place. How do you know this fact with such certainty? Do you also know what agreement was made in the negotiations?Originally posted by agentzero View Post

Two things:
Companies house director changes to persons related to the wider business in discussion.
Insider accountancy information, as they pay for advice from an accountant I also use for one of my businesses.Comment

Doesn’t seem unreasonable for contractors employed by Clarity to expect to hear about such a major change in ownership officially, rather than via an online forum five months later.

Not unreasonable, but the poster who originally said that they should have been told in advance said that they did not use Clarity.Originally posted by Ketto View PostDoesn’t seem unreasonable for contractors employed by Clarity to expect to hear about such a major change in ownership officially, rather than via an online forum five months later.
The other poster made specific claims and accusations that all negotiations took place in a two month window - while providing no evidence that was true, and then claims that they use an accountant who is happy to break confidentiality agreements.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment
