Chances are XDA Developers will cook something that solves this issue.

I don't really need much out of a phone so will probably go with the legend.
Ta - I see that it's also on T-mobile (who I'm already with) and vodafone.

Play.com has both the Legend and Desire available (unlocked) from April 12th - not sure when they will be out subsidised by a network.

I'm buying a sim free, am with t-mob but they tie you in for 24 months.

I don't particularly want to be stuck with a handset that plays up. My current one after 18 months has been playing silly b*ggers for the last few months.

Plug it in...Yes it wont power on until you install itunes and plug it in. Yes really.

It's so plug and play if you look around google for making it work with Exchange you will find lots of guides, all different from each other and most of which dont work strangely.

Are you serious? You think people need an app on their phone to find jalapenos? By the time you worked out how to spell it (which you did wrongly) you could have just asked an assistant!

The main difference between the hero and the iphone is that the hero has 7 different screens all user configurable. You just scroll left or right till you find what you need, all running. iPhone can only run one thing at a time cant it?

It doesnt need any software installing on a pc to work, or a credit card.

WHS. Top marks for making money out of nothing though.

I would guess that under the Sale of Goods Act you could argue that it's not unreasonable to expect the phone to last more than 18 months and demand a repair or replacement. But whether that is more hassle than it's worth I don't know.

I got my G1 on 18 months contract with T-Mobile - tariff is a lot cheaper these days for the same deal so will see what is on offer mid-April when the phone is generally available.

I was just due for upgrade on my phone but have gone for sim only, having looked at the deals on the new andriod phones, you are looking at 24 month deals and they are not cheap either.

Course it will power on without iTunes or anything. Are you sure you 'configured' these? Of course iTunes does the work but it still powers on.

Mine works with Exchange from two different sites, dead easy, perhaps you should let it do it instead of trying to 'configure' it?

Ok I spelt it wrong but you missed an apostrophy on 'can't'! and 'haven't! - iPhone spellchecker helps me find what I want in Tescos. Can't ask the assistant, they have the new HTC which can't tell me where they are located!

iPhone can multitask, but usually on Apple apps.

I only did another one of these last month, a week before I bought my Hero.

A new iPhone will not power on without first installing itunes on a pc and plugging it in. Are you sure you even own one??

My htc has Exchange in one screen, my personal e-mail in the next, my business email in the next. I just move between them by swipping left to right. We all know the iPhone doesnt do that.

Doesnt even play Flash yet does it?

Apple stuff has always been limiting crap. Hell they wouldnt even be in business if they hadnt invented coloured cases lol

I remember reading you used to have to burn a cd from itunes to be able to convert your music to mp3 to play on a player other than an apple one.
