I've noticed that my tripod is prone to wobbling. Can anyone recommend a video camera tripod that's very stable. Max height 1.6 - 1.8m

Where does it wobble? Anything you could tweak to make it more stable? Tightening joints/removing slack, adding weights or bracing?
Just a thought before you buy a new one...Last edited by woody1; 25 June 2024, 07:26. -
What tripod do you have?
What sort of video work are you doing, i.e. do you just want the camera held in a fixed position, or are you shooting while panning/tilting?
Most of my tripod work is stills with big lenses, and I'm a fan of Manfrotto. Benro also has a good rep, but I also read a lot of positive press for 3 Legged Thing.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

It's the upright that gives more height. Maybe I just need a taller tripod!Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

What type of mount do you need for the camera? I'm using a light stand for a wireless access point:
NEEWER Pro 9feet/260cm Spring Loaded Heavy Duty Photo Studio Light Stand with 1/4" Screw & 5/8 Stud for Video, Portrait and Photography Lighting: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
(The idea is that I can position the AP near the ceiling, then move it around to find out where I get the best signal strength.)
That has an adjustable height, and it seems rock solid to me, so maybe suitable for a camera too?Comment
