Morning all, Seattle calling, local time 0643

Dark, sun rise is at 0713. Raining and that's expected all day. Currently 10 degrees with a high of 13 expected. Barometer at 1000 mBar.

Our flight was an hour late but otherwise had a very pleasant time. Knackered though.

I remembered I had a smallish bit of steak & Guinness pie left in the freezer, so that was lunch

The slight mist first thing thickened into a definite fog after an hour or so. Not sure when it dissipated as I was working by then, but it's a sunny day with an almost clear sky now

CBS, etc. I even went as far as wearing a heavier jacket over a t-shirt. I prefer cold and dry to raining -when it comes to walking.

    Morning denizens

Bit of a misty start, but looks as if it'll turn into a sunny morning once the sun gets high enough, before clouding over towards lunchtime. Getting chilly in the morning now: 3°C to start, though rising to 11° later. The barometers remain quite high at 1025/1033mB

This evening, I finished The Peepshow in which the death penalty was eventually abolished, in part because of the case of Timothy Evans. The book ends with an interesting discovery in the National Archives: a record of something Christie said to a prison officer immediately after his sentencing that appears to completely exonerate Evans, which was suppressed by the Conservative government (all the correspondence about it between the various politicians involved is also in the archive) who feared it could make a forthcoming vote on the death penalty go the "wrong" way

And then I started on Lying for Money: How legendary frauds reveal the workings of our world by Dan Davies, which promises to be an interesting read

    Wednesday tomorrow! Soon be Thursday

    Goodnight all

Quite a good day today. I finally resolved the issue I've been looking into, so I have something I can point to when asked what I've achieved during this two-week stint with the other team

And I'm now halfway through the working week, so just need to find some way to drag things out for another couple of days
