    Morning all

Dull and overcast. Damp. Currently 18 degrees with a high of 19 expected. Rain forecast over lunchtime. Barometer down to 1009 mBar (1010 mBar in the weather app).

Today I have to go to the post office and then send off a proposal for a small piece of work then head to a friend's house to receive cat sitting instructions.

    Morning.

    Tuesday.

    Dark.

    Dank.

    Dreary.

    Drizzly.

    Grey.

    Sunless.

Cool in here at 18.7 deg, 19.5 in the kitchen, 18 deg in the leanto.

1002 mBar, 29.589 in Hg, 751.56 Torr, 14.533 psi, (down from 1005 last night), 71% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 19th of October 2019 NF was watching "The other Boleyn Girl (2008)" and recalling peering down a lady's cleavage from the 4th floor when he should have been working , whereas it was much fresher in the library due to the absence of the pongy ones of the day before.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the grey gloom & high humidity. Gorilla's armpit weather.

    Lunch: baked spud etc.

Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about housing. <click>

    Morning denizens

Rainy grey day out with a bit of a breeze too, though one indefatigable pigeon is wandering around pecking at the lawn despite it all. It's 15°C at the moment and maybe reaching 20°, so not too cold with it; the barometers are down a bit at 997/1005mB

Watched a bit of Police Interceptors earlier

And I've read some more of There's Someone in Reception

Today was quite full of meetings, but tomorrow there's only one apart from the usual standup

The new SoS did a lunchtime thing today, addressing those civil servants who'd deigned to go to the office. Apparently they were a hugely enthusiastic crowd - though the institution of the Civil Service maintains strict political impartiality, the people that make it up all seem to be absolutely delighted with the election result

    Goodnight all

Anyway, it’s precipitating it down, and I’ve an early start, so, TFBSZ

Work being done, I popped round the corner to the shops. First, to the Post Office to drop off a damaged book for return to Amazon; and then to the chemists a couple of door away for the monthly stuff

The Prime Minister emailed me earlier to assure me that he has every confidence in me. Nice of him to say so though, embarrassingly, he'd accidentally copied in the whole of the Civil Service. Even more of a blunder than that made by the new Secretary of State, who only copied in the entire department when he emailed to say how much he was looking forward to working with me. I daresay they'll get the hang of it eventually

    Afternoon all

Dull, overcast. Much rain forecast but not yet presented itself. Currently 18 degrees and that's the high for the day. Barometer at 1013 mBar (1016 mBar according to the weather app).

Today I have had a lazy morning and just gotten back from the hairdressers. Job hunting resumes.

Yesterday I visited my Mum and my brother and I took her out for lunch ahead of her birthday this week (for which I have just remembered to order some flowers). The drive down and back was made more entertaining due to some very heavy showers but on the coast it was a sunny albeit windy day. I mowed the back lawn after lunch had settled.

Lunch has been salmon baps with a bag of plain crisps

I'll go years at a time without buying a tin of salmon, but I always enjoy it when I remember to get some

Seems odd she felt dizzy when entering neighbour's garden at closest spot to the router. Wonder if my insomnia has similar causes, must make myself a tin foil hat.
