I finished The Andromeda Anthology, and have enjoyed it greatly. I did wonder about the advisability of having the story continue after A for Andromeda but I now wholeheartedly approve, which I'm sure would be a great comfort to the authors if they were still alive

Lots of meetings tomorrow, with most of them being ones where I just have to sit and listen. I should take up crochet or something for days like that

    Goodnight all

Scrambled Maps is confirmed as non-functional in Firefox v143.01. They think it's a bug in Firefox that will sort itself out with a future update, so have no plans to try to figure out what's going on as the console is giving zero clues. Oddly, they tested it in the daily challenge and it works fine there.

They also told me about a new development that they're toying with. Testing some real-time multiplayer code that they've currently made into a battleships game: https://labs.tripgeo.com/battleships/game.html not tried it out yet as I'm going to bed.

I was quite surprised to receive an email this evening from Patients Know Best informing me my blood test results were ready. All in normal range except for one thing. No idea if it's serious as googling the test didn't really shed much light on it. I have an appointment next week for a chat about the results so will find out then.

Watched an episode of Alien: Earth. Not sure. Will give the next episode a try.

There's only so far such a premise can go, and it's been done many times before.
Goes to show what I know. It's come back for a second season. I've since watched a few more episodes and it's quite fun, switch your brain off, entertainment.

Tea has been the cottage (not shepherd's) pie I started making this afternoon. It turned out very well indeed

And to go with this, NEW! Police Interceptors :

"Busy" day today, in the sense of there being meetings but not a lot actually done from my perspective

I didn't even get time for a proper lunch break! I had to quickly scoff some beef flavoured chipsticks because anything else I had in would have taken too long

Though I did get long enough in the afternoon to prepare the contents of a shepherds pie; the dish containing it is now in the fridge, as it's much easier to spread the mash on it when it's cold

Just popped round to the chemist's for the usual monthly stuff, so I can now claim to have exercised

    Afternoon all

Sunny with occasional lumps of fluff. Currently 19 degrees ('feels like' 24) and that's the high for the day. Barometer up to 1026 mbar.

    Sunrise 07:01; Sunset 18:41 BST

Busy day. Blood test this morning then meetings.

Just tried Scrambled Maps again and it's still broken. I checked Chrome and it works so it must be a Firefox update that's borked it. As I refuse to use Chrome, I have let the developer know and hopefully they'll have a fix.

    Morning.

    Tuesday.

    Dry.

    Wanly sunny.

Quite cloudy & grey in parts.

Chilly in here at 17.3 deg, 16 in the kitchen, 14.5 in the leanto.

1020.5 mBar, 30.14 in Hg, 765.4 Torr, 14.8 psi, (unchanged), 59% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 20th of February 2020 xogg (in tree chopping mode), Churchill, scruff, NF, WTFH and me popped in, whilst the library was infested with LEGO(tm) day & full of kids.

Freecell score: 75%, running average: 84%. Got bored.

Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the wan sunshine.

    Lunch: brunch.

    Entertainment: Y&Y. 13 o'clock news. TWATO <click>

Just weighed my collection of radio/tv manuals/datasheet: 55kg. And that's not all of them.

More potching in the garden with the new toy. It's much easier to use than the big feck off one. And lighter with it.

Tea: soup etc. Entertainment: 17 o'clock news: PM <click>.

Bugger. Forgot Am Dro was on this afternoon. Have to watch it on Saturday now.

    Dial 999.

The Mind of Mr J. G. Reeder. "The strange case (1969). That was a livelier one. Rather enjoyed that. Edward Fox as a drugged up lord.

Why does everyone hate the British Empire? with that pub landlord chap. Jamaica.

    JFK. thing.

It was the Grassy knoll wot dun it.

    Morning denizens

Blue sky with bits of cloud out; possibly a bit of mackerel sky, though I'm not sure about that - the Wikipedia page on cloud types seems a lot more complicated than the Ladybird book about the weather which formed the basis of my knowledge

Anyway, it's 8°C and expected to reach 18°, which seems reasonable for the end of September, and also likely to be mostly sunny with the cloud increasing a bit this afternoon. The barometers are steady at 1014/1022mB

In Andromeda Breakthrough, it seems that Andromeda may be able to fulfil her mission (whatever that may be) after all, but it also looks as if climate change might beat her to the punch

And in my mucking around with RealityKit, I've managed to get it to save a scene to a file. This one is just a random assortment of brightly coloured spheres, cubes, and cylinders scattered across a 100mx100m area, because that was quick and easy to do. And I'm still a bit unclear on the file format it's using. But at least it shows that it's possible to generate stuff and save it, suggesting that I can move on to loading and editing said stuff

    Goodnight all

I haven't looked yet - I'll be checking it in a few minutes

Tea has been oniony chicken casserole with chips and peas

And this was accompanied by yet more fare dodgers. None of them ever seem to come up with anything original. Then again, I suppose of they did, they wouldn't get caught
