Today seemed like it was going to be quite busy, as there were three unrelated aspects of The Thing that needed to be addressed. It turned out that one needed to be done by somebody else instead; the second also needed to be done by somebody else, or at least can't proceed until they've done something; and the third had been working all along but nobody had realised (it sends automated emails to an address that somebody else had to check as we don't have access to it)

Late lunch was a fish finger sandwich (Waitrose battered haddock).

Called up a company recommended by my mechanic to get a quote for sorting out my car's air conditioning. Apparently I need a new compressor based on the description of mechanic's findings when they investigated it for me. The supply and fit of such an item is £950 + VAT.

I got them to fix my car's air conditioning when it was in for its MOT last year, in February or March. By the time the weather was warm enough to need it, it had stopped working again. So maybe put it off until the weather forecast improves

(I think they'd just recharged it and there must be a leak somewhere so whatever it is they recharge it with had all leaked out again. It worked when I first got it back.)

After a pleasant but cool weekend, we've now just had a skiff of rain. Thankfully it arrived after our morning walk.
Today is the 2nd anniversary of us saying goodbye to Millie.

Meanwhile on the 2nd of January 2020 I'd had a poor night's sleep which had led to the finishing of the book about Admiral Canaris (bad end, all in all), BR14 popped in, as did Brillo, WTFH got wet on his walk, the lack of hood not improving things, eek popped in, and NF remarked on the greyness of things, and I visited the library computer room for the first time since before Xmas.

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the grey gloom, wan sunshine, and lazy biting wind.

Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about the chinese plague.

I was expecting the cattle rancher chap to turn out to be played by Gerald McRaney, but they missed a trick there.

Another day with cloud but the suggestion of gaps that could open up at any time. It's 4°C (but "feels like" 0°) and expected to get to 8° later. The barometers are up some more at 1018/1026mB

I'm really not in the mood for this Monday thing, but there's not much I can do about it. Oh well, only five more weeks (including this one) till Easter, when I'm taking a week off for my birthday; and then there's a couple of Bank Holidays in the weeks that follow
