Lunch has been Scotch broth and a bit of wholemeal
Having to get through the soup over the last few days as I made too much stuff that wanted space in the freezer at the end of last week

Morning all late checkin from me today, other things distracted me, like the stunning sunrise while out walking. Blue skies and sunny here now, but quite chilly in the shade, almost like it's January or something. The back of the house is warming up nicely in the sun, in fact thinking about it, I might de-camp to the dining table this afternoon for the sunshine and warmth, compared to my north-east facing office.

HWMBO and I are having breakfast and deciding what to do with our day. We forgot swimming cossies so a trip to the shop may have to happen.

Morning denizens
Grey sort of start I think, maybe brightening up a little later. Mild compared to recent times at 4°C and expected to soar to a balmy 9°; the barometers are down slightly at 1020/1028mB

After a bit of the motorway-avoidant police thing, tonight's viewing was the final episode of 7/7 on iPlayer
And then I finished reading February 1933 which actually continues until March 15 as it describes the various things the Nazis got up to as soon as they'd rid themselves of the constitution and any pretence at being constrained by law. On that basis, I give the USA until late February or early March
Goodnight all

It's been a lovely sunny day in Funchal. Day 1 of holiday has gone very well.

Lunch was home made butternut squash soup. After defrosting it, it looked a bit lumpy, but a good nuke and it went back to smooth. Quite spicy, so I added a dollop of sour cream.

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Shirts in off the line, in the TD for a moment or two, then met the iRon: now airing upstairs.
Entertainment: The infinite monkey cage best bits, plus S28 E1 Octopuses.
Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the grey gloom somewhere in there after brunch.
Cottons in off the line & in the TD.
The remaining items needing the iRon duly iRoned.

Book. Other book.
Oak Island nutjobbery: quadrilateral: dug a hole. Found an iron hoop. Probably Roman. Wall looks like a Portuguese wall from 1555. Or something. Same old Same old.
Secrets in the Ice: more Blazean bollox, but slightly less bolloxy than Oak Island, unfortunately has that massively irritating narrator. They found bones. Strange pile of empty Nazi oil drums on an island off Siberia: turns out to be from the Japanese during WWII: the usual underground maze as per the rather warmer islands in the Pacific.
Oh look: Blind Frog Ranch on Quest+1: more bollox. $3B this time. Claim jumpers. <click>Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; Today, 09:36.

Morning all
It's getting brighter in the mornings, the temperature was a pleasant 5C when we went out. Looks like it might be a pleasant day.
Recycling men wouldn't take the plastic of my old paper shredder, so we'll see if it will be taken by the black bin team. (It's an all-play bin week - recycling, black and garden)

Morning denizens
Rosy-fingered dawn outside and it's not even freezing, being 1°C with an expected high of 4° - though the extremely light breeze that's barely stirring the trees is apparently powerful enough at the moment to make it "feel like" -6°. The barometers are down a touch at 1025/1033mB
