    Morning denizens

On the cloudy side out there today but with frequent sunny spells, and a light breeze as well. Warmer though, as it builds up to the Bank Holiday scorcher: already 20°C and reaching 23° soon. The barometers are much the same at 1009/1016mB

I awoke a little after eight and almost got up then, but fell asleep again. I awoke again a little after eleven, and felt much better for the extra three hours of sleep

Is the White Lion(aka Stage 6*) still there?

*so called when Ealing Studios was active, as it had 5 sound stages :-)

    Morning all

Blue sky with fluff. Currently 18 degrees with a high of 23 expected. Barometer steady at 1021 mBar.

    Sunrise 06:01; Sunset 20:05 BST

I was woken shortly before 8.30 am by the washing machine turning on. I had set it to a delayed start before going to bed last night. It started about half an hour later than I expected but it's close enough.

The usual weekend drive to Sussex by the Sea will take place today. I wonder what argument my brother and Mum will be having today?

    Morning.

    Sunday judging by R4.

    Dry.

    Sunny.

    Blue sky.

Cool in here at 19.7 deg, 20.5 in the kitchen, 18.5 in the leanto.

1013.5 mBar, 29.92 in Hg, 760.2 Torr, 14.6995 psi, (unchanged), 65% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 10th of February 2020 it was snowing on NF whilst he was single stepping through someone else's code, it rained on WTFH, however BR14 avoided it and the hail by being in the pub: dry when he went in & dry when he came out, whereas I had a nice bonfire & probably got soaked during it.

Walk (towpath) walked. Canal even lower. The bit where it was all of a foot wide is now 3 inches wide.

Photographs taken. The kind that need developing after I found a film in the cupboard.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: the noise the fridge makes plus my tinnitus, it being Walter Gabriel repeat time of day, like.

    Book.

Some R4 tosh about something I've completely forgotten.

Freecell score: 83%, running average: 83%.

More book. The sheer incompetence of the Orange Micropenised Moron is breathtaking.

Not quite as much wildlife stuff as usual today as they apparently felt that the occasion of it being a Bank Holiday weekend justified putting The Great Escape on at six instead

In The Rewind Files, our time travelling agent has been pulled back from 1972 to her own time (the future) for various complicated reasons

    Goodnight all

The bed has been made and it's not bedtime yet

I have been giving High Potential a try. A TV show that only lasted one season. Implausible police procedural based around a woman who sees things (patterns, not hallucinations) that seasoned detectives don't. It's entertaining enough but I can see why it didn't last. There's only so far such a premise can go, and it's been done many times before.

Recently I heard about a small Indian restaurant just beyond the far side of the city centre, hidden away down a dead-end side street lined with old factory buildings, which is supposed to be very good. So tea tonight was brought from there, and what I'd heard is true: really good food, generous portions, and cheap too! I'll definitely be ordering from them again

The optician seemed a bit puzzled by my prescription vs my test performance. They finally came to the conclusion that it was a little on the strong side but I was sufficiently used to it that changing to a weaker prescription wasn't worthwhile, as I wasn't reacting well when being tested with it. I certainly don't need anything stronger. My distance vision is perfect.

I had a mooch around the various shops on that road as, although I've lived here a year, I've not really bothered to see what's there. The bakery was nice, and I picked up a loaf to try. There's lots of coffee shops, a deli, little gift shops, restaurants, etc. I tried the tapas restaurant for lunch (very nice), booked myself in for a pedicure (also on Friday), and bought some greetings cards for my general stash.

I was a bit worn out by the time I got home. The bed linen was put out on airers in the back garden (just been brought in) but the duvet cover didn't go into the WM. I'll do that tomorrow morning.

The rest of the afternoon, up to now, has been spent watching tat on TV.

There's a lot of cloud out again, but today it's in the form of big white fluffy clumps with gaps between to let the light in, so it's a lot brighter. It's 18°C and thinking about getting to 21° so very slightly warmer as it builds towards Monday, which will be a hot one. The barometers are down a bit at 1009/1017mB
