Got me 5 warblings ready for Karaoke. 1st for about 2 months after bloke who leads it had a stroke. Hope's he fully ok now. Huge water outages round here so expect everyone will turn up smelly.
After this morning, it was a relief to be able to spend the afternoon hacking on something interesting. The other dev offered to pair with me after she’d had another meeting that didn’t involve me, but then changed her mind, saying she was “meetinged out” and was going to veg out by doing some mandatory training instead
New bed delivered this morning, came half an hour early, good thing I'd already got things sorted out. Karaoke back this evening, must get some screechings prepared.
PS Bed did not include the free prostitute I was hoping for. Bah!
Chilly in here at 12.7 deg, 12 deg in the kitchen, 11 deg in the leanto.
998.5 mBar, 29.486 in Hg, 748.9 Torr, 14.48 psi, (down from 999 last night), 65% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 11th of March NF went to bed early due to , whereas on the 12th of March 2020 Brillo and BR14 popped in, whilst LM sat on The Wrong Side of the tube and contemplated putting sunglasses on.
Goodness me it's grim out there today.
Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the wan sunshine with some blue sky in parts.
Nice chat to her next door but one. .
Now outside a mug of mediocre yet consistent coffee. Which reminds me of what I forgot to buy yesterday.
Morning all
Let Max out in the garden as usual just before our walk, and it was 9C, overcast with a bit of dampness in the air. By the time I had put my light jacket and walking boots on and stepped out the door, this had changed to rain.
It rained the whole walk, and since I hadn't put on waterproof trousers, my bottom half was soaking. No such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes.
In other news, Octopus/Zappi/Skoda started to talk to each other last night and for the princely sum of 56p, I got 8kWh of charge in just over an hour. This time of year that's about 20 miles. Car is currently 80% charged and might do 10 miles in total this week (I need to go to a DIY store to get a new radiator bleed key since my 30 year old one broke at the weekend)
Slept very badly last night; more accurately, couldn’t really sleep at all for several hours before finally dropping off. As a result, I went straight back to sleep after the first alarm and it seems I’d turned off subsequent alarms, so I've arisen quite late for a work day and still feel quite tired
Anyway, it’s a grey day and there already seems to have been some rain. More of the same is expected later, and the wind continues to gust. Very mild for January though: 7°C now (though it “feels like” 3°) with an expected high of 7°. The barometers are back up a touch at 990/998mB
I was going to make a wholemeal loaf this evening but I forgot to put it on when I finished work, so I used the “quick” programme that only takes three hours instead of five. It’s turned out not very tall, so I reckon it’ll probably also turn out to be quite dense. Oh well, I’ll just have to have dense toast for a while
Tonight I read more of Endurance, in which said vessel has finally succumbed to the ice. After letting a floe carry them roughly in the direction they wanted to go for a couple of months or so, they’ve set out west, hoping to get somewhere they have a chance of launching the boats and heading for the Antarctic Peninsula. But they’ve ended up blocked by huge pressure ridges, and the floe they’re on is starting to break up
