…probably somebody forgot to tick one specific checkbox
“Due to an internal error” - yeah, somebody screwed up
They responded within five minutes to say it’s being dealt with ASAP though, which is pretty good going for a Friday morning! It took me longer than that just to get my act together to send the email saying “WTF?!”
I awoke unpaid, as the agency has screwed something up. I suspect it’s to do with the recent extension; probably somebody forgot to tick one specific checkbox, as I can see the approved timesheet in certain expected places in their execrable “portal”, but not in others. Oh well, I’ve emailed them about it so I’m sure it’ll be fine
It’s another grey day here after a rainy night, and more rain may (45-50%) be along soon, and continuing (50-60%) through the evening. The wind is a bit less vigorous than on many recent days, so the current 11°C - which is also the high for the day - only “feels like” 8°; but the barometers are pessimistic at 995/1003mB
I finished Peace and War; I enjoyed Forever Peace but it doesn’t have anything to do with the other two apart from being about war and peace
I also did a bit more work on the SwiftUI stuff
It started raining off and on here at lunchtime and it still is, having become steadier this evening; I think it hasn’t stopped for the last hour or more. Oh well, it’s good for the trees
Lunch never happened, because I went and did the shopping instead. So that’s out of the way and the weekend starts here!
As expected, we got stuck into the tech debt thing we’d been putting off, and made a bit of progress before lunch. After lunch, the other dev wasn’t up to working as she’d taken one of her animals to the vet and received some bad news - I don’t know what, thinking it better not to hassle her with questions. This left me on my own for the afternoon, and I pretty much got it all sorted out! There’s a few details left for the mopping up stage, so (with her approval) I’ve left those for her to finish up tomorrow
Now having a bag of salt & vinegar crisps to stave off the pangs of hunger while I decide what to have for tea
Old fart Mahjong at local cafe this morning, I won again. Wondering if to bother going shopping today, hate boring shopping, wish I had a butler to do it for me. Just done Wordle in 2 goes, lucky day.
NotSoChilly in here at 14.8 deg, 13 in the kitchen, 13 in the leanto.
1010 mBar, 29.83 in Hg, 757.6 Torr, 14.65 psi, (down from 1011 last night), 67% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 18th of March 2020 Brillo, LM, NF, WTFH, vetran and I popped in. Toilet roll purchases were ongoing.
Actually had breakfast this morning.
Parcel delivery: accomplished. Presumably Yet Another Single Malt I've never heard of.
Lunch with sister: well that's another £120 I'll never see again.
Now getting outside a cup of mediocre yet consistent coffee which was rather more enjoyable than the cup of Americano I paid for earlier. . Oh, and the last of the shortcake despatched by my dear niece earlier in the week. Needless to say there's nothing from next door. .
Book.
Tea: beans on toast. Cost a bit less than lunch. .
