It's a grey and overcast day today, and rather breezy too. Currently 17°C ("feels like" 13°) with a high of 21° later; the barometers are down some more at 1007/1014mB
The wholemeal bread seems to have turned out well, so I can have toast for breakfast
Cool in here at 21.8 deg, 22.5 in the kitchen, 21 in the leanto.
1010.5 mBar, 29.84 in Hg, 757.9 Torr, 14.656 psi, (down from 1011 last night), 67% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 9th of February 2020 it was very windy, BR14 and Brillo popped in, along with Phil The Greek and Anonimouse, DaveB did running repairs on the gate, WTFH went around Memphis to a museum, then for a walk, NF watched "Training Day", and LM was kept awake by the rattling of the windows in the gale, whereas the rain around here was horizontal.
Freecell score: 95%, running average: 83%.
Lunch: brunch.
Walk (towpath) walked. Couple of oiks up by the lock busily watching some sort of pron.
The water level in the canal above the lock has dropped another inch since yesterday.
Wound a toroidal core for an un-un 9:1 balun. No idea if it'll work since the core is of unknown qualities and the winding less than professional.
Tea: soup etc.
Entertainment: PM. I wonder what the Orange Micropenised Moron is up to today.
Morning all
Following yesterday evening's trip to the chiropractor, I slept soundly. Didn't get up until 6.20, so a very short walk, not even 7,000 steps!
Oh, and now our boiler has cut out twice. The overheat reset worked the first time, but not now. No hot water.
Short billing week this week, and next, and the one after.
Off to Ireland on Thursday for dad’s 90th. Flying with Aer Lingus, who are part of IAG and in or not in OneWorld, depending on how you ask the question.
Bank Holiday on Monday, and then the following weekend, The Wife has a significant birthday.
Cock up collecting LL1 at Gatwick North, accidentally drove through Gatwick South and ended up paying fee twice. Wonder if one can get cloned number plates on some shady website?
In sorting through the assorted left overs HWMBO deposited in the fridge, I decided that I needed to use up some bacon and accompany it with an egg. So that was what I had for a late lunch.
Not much had to be disposed of, and some of it was still suitable for freezing.
Meanwhile on the 8th of February 2020 Brillo & BR14 popped in, NF was in the Chinese which was very nice, and I watched "Highlander" and "The Omega Man" for want of anything better, whilst NF was finding it windier and had turned off the soup to let it cool.
Washing frenzy in progress (with added 60 deg wash to turn that little red light off).
Shopping trip to Aldi and Tesco.
Lunch: brunch.
Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about how expensive HE is these days, merely accommodation costing £10k/yr (as opposed to the £270/yr I paid back in Ye Mysts of Tyme & all that, back then we didn't know what "tuition fees" were, though I did pay £4 for my first year of HNC. However the 2nd year was £140 after Harold Wilson got elected).
Shirts & those cottons requiring it met the iRon & are airing upstairs.
Feck me it's close today.
Tea: Mr Brains faggots with peas & such.
Entertainment: PM with much mention of the Orange Micropenised Moron.
Might watch that Jason Statham thing this evening. For a Guy Ritchie film it wasn't bad: and so it transpired, with Mr Eastwood's son as the baddie, not that there was much difference really. Mr Statham really was wrathful.
Thing on BBC4 about JMW Turner in BBC documentaries over the years. The colour programmes after 1967 were rather better than the earlier B&W offerings. .
Overcast. Dull. Currently 19 degrees ('feels like' 25) with a high of 23 expected. Possibility of rain before brightening up later. Barometer down to 1021 mBar.
Sunrise 05:52; Sunset 20:17 BST
A short week this week, on account of that wedding on Wednesday. At least the forecast has improved a bit.
Picking up loony lady 1 from Gatwick North terminal this afternoon. I hate that place, always get lost and feel I'm in a horror movie. As usual, just did much better at SAGA crossword than at the so-called quick crossword.
