Tonight’s reading was more of Dawn, in which she’s still not very happy about being stuck with a bunch of aliens that are planning to genetically modify all surviving humans
Thursday tomorrow!
And it’s Tech Debt day too, so shouldn’t be stressful
Grab the 17 pro max, I got one from Cashconverters for £910 about a month ago..
But I’d only be getting a new one for the camera with variable aperture, and the 17 doesn’t have that! For everything other than the camera, the 12 is still fine
I’m tempted by the iPhone 18 Pro Max. My current 12 Pro Max is perfectly fine for stuff like calls, messages, email, and so on. But the camera leaves a lot to be desired compared to the new one - it can’t even do macro shots! And the new variable aperture sounds cool, though they slipped in something about it only having four settings when they thought we weren’t listening…
But pricewise, the old one was a bit over £1,600 with the maximum-in-2021 512GB, whereas the new one maxed out at 2TB would be nearer £2,600
The folding one seems pretty cool too, but that would be over three grand with 2TB. So I might hold off on that until the National Lottery have got their act together and picked the correct numbers for once

I intentionally updated a few weeks ago - because I suspect phone prices are going to be heading up a bit..

Quite a peaceful day, just tinkering around with bits
It’s the Apple Event at 18:00, announcing the new iPhones and such. Will this be the year I get a new one? There’s only been three such years in the history of the Universe, so the odds are against it

Mum is pleased with the hairdo. Turns out she'd been doing some random DIY trimming which made things a bit more difficult but the hairdresser had no doubt seen worse.
I think it made her feel a bit more normal to be doing things like going to the hairdresser, so I will endeavour to make it a more frequent occurrence for her.
Afternoon all
I see the tax dodgers are getting into some infighting and handbags now.
exciting stuff <by this forum's standards>
i suppose i'll have to start thinking about working again soon........... meh.
lunch was had, as was breakfast, and there'll probably be dinner too.
Is it possible to die of boredom/lack of interest??
I might be in danger here.
The gardener is here, trimming hedges and such. I didn’t think the lawn had managed to grow enough recently to be worth mowing but he seems to have done it anyway
History group coffee morning at local pub soon. Dunno what else to do wiv me day apart from me walky, new fence panel ain't arrived yet.
Updateipoo: Oh yeh, book reading group this afternoon. Ain't read anything as usual. Tried three books, all boring rubbish. Why do books have to ramble on for a whole page about things like what somebody looks like? I want them to get to the exciting bits, like zombies popping out of the cupboard.
