Whilst discussions were ongoing regarding the carpet shop lights timer.

Yet another dream of working somewhere I didn't want to be, though this was improved by imminent redundancy and, curiously, cream cakes.

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Heavy rain overnight, but the forecast rain for this morning has not arrived yet, so our walk was muddy underfoot, cloudy but dry overhead.

It’s cloudy out, but like yesterday seems as if it might be willing to indulge us in the occasional, brief sunny spell - despite the 45% chance of a spot of rain in the next hour or so. The wind is, apparently, gusty and making the current 6°C “feel like” 2°; the day’s high will be 9° through much of the afternoon, and it’ll be a mild night, not dipping below 6°. Nando’s leftovers for tea

The ongoing poking around in the new forum software continued this afternoon. And I also spent a bit of time on a Mac app I’d got bogged down with a while ago, where it turned out the time away from it had been sufficient for me to be able to make good progress

Nature reserve thing was supposed to be mulching paths but mulch not turn up so went off with another bloke to a nearby nature reserve to clears up piles of apples. Wot fun! Lunch with ll1 was steak and apple crumble, quite chewy.

In part of the “use up everything that is expired” mode, today I’ve made tahini from some sesame seeds marked as best before October 2023 and then used some of it to make hummus with a tin of chickpeas (March 2025)
Next is to make some trout pate from fish I smoked a couple of years ago before putting it in the freezer.
Going to make myself a rhubarb crumble for dessert tonight as I found a pot of rhubarb we had stewed and frozen in 2022.

Morning all

It was bright and quite sunny when I got up but it's now clouded over. Currently 9 degrees with a high of 11 expected. Rain forecast off and on all day. Barometer up to 1005 mBar.

The drive down to Sussex took over 3.5 hours . There was a huge crash on the M25 and I sat 3/4 of a mile away from the A3 turn off for the better part of an hour. We were then all diverted down the A3, which isn't my normal route (I prefer the A24). I wasn't late for the family dinner. Dinner was actually quite good fun and then I drove home afterwards, getting back at 00:15 this morning. The drive home was far less eventful.
