Tea has been steak and chips

To go with it, part two (of three) of the Boston marathon thing

As quick and simple a meal as possible as I’ve been in the living room all day and the rest of the flat is about 30°C, so I didn’t want to be out there any longer than necessary

It’s supposed to be down to 29° now and it’s also windy, so I’ll open the windows once it’s down another couple of degrees and with luck it’ll stay that way and blow cooler air through the flat

Other than that, it looks very nice out! Quite Simpsonesque

Blimey, that's kink I doubt anyone would admit in public
Kink? Gordon Bennet, don't think I was having that sort of dream about him.

    Morning denizens

    Guess what? Sunny, hot, unbearable!

To get into the details: having failed to dip any lower than 20°C overnight, it’s already 29° and will hover around 33° for most of the afternoon. But it’ll get down to 17° tonight, and tomorrow will “only” be 28° before heading for much more sensible low/high ranges in the low teens to low twenties next week

I awoke a little after seven and was thinking of getting up. But poor sleep quality caught up with me and I fell asleep again, waking once more at half nine

    Morning all

Ugh. Sunny again. Currently 28 degrees ('feels like' 31)with a high of 34 expected. The overnight low will once again, not be low. Barometer down to 1014 mBar.

    Sunrise 04:46; Sunset 21:23 BST

The forecast thunderstorm never materialised. There is no such event forecast for today.

    Invoicing day for gig3.

    Morning.

    Friday.

    Dry.

    Sunny.

26.4 deg in here, 28.2 in the kitchen, 26 in the leanto, 28 in the front bedroom, 27.3 in the saltinghouse, 25 outside the back door (where it was 38 yesterday afternoon).

1003 mBar, 29.62 in Hg, 752.3 Torr, 14.55 psi, (unchanged), 73% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 31st of March 2020 AndyGarbs, covbob (new offer in hand), LM, NF (in mad shopping spree mode looking for lentils), vetran, and I popped in after a beetroot sandwich to take away the taste of the Heinz(tm) Sandwich Spread. .

Oh the relief: humidity is now down to 66% RH in here. And there's a nice breeze.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: "Discoverying Movies: The Orient Express". Hadn't seen (or don't remember ) that one before.

TWATO waffling on about unbearable heat etc. <click>.

Down to 64% RH now. .

It no longer being May, and the front lawn looking like a jungle, the lawn has been strimmed & then mown. Hardwork. Every year I forget how hard it is.

More strimming in the back garden, and the bottom bit of lawn has received the attention of the mower, the rest can wait For Another Day. .

Had to stop halfway through to have a cup of mediocre yet consistent coffee.

Tea: chicken in white sauce etc. Nice enough. Entertainment: PM <click>

Blazian UFO Bollox. Rendlesham again, with a side order of Roswell.

Dara o'Briain waffling on about the Sun. Total eclipse thrown in for good measure. Clouds parted for 3 seconds during totality.

Bab5 S1 E14 "TKO". Filler. Boxing crap. The only inneresting thing was the prop Harlan Ellison autobiography "Working without a net".

    Thing about the Somme.

    Taggart S13 E4,5,6. "Apocalypse"

I finished reading A Canticle for Leibowitz tonight. Strange, but good

The bedroom was at 28.1°C but there’s an actual breeze getting through the window! So in the last hour or so, it’s gone down to 27.6°, which is still far too hot but an improvement

    Goodnight all

Tea has been a rack of ribs and chips

Not just any rack of ribs, an M&S rack of ribs

Accompanying viewing has been American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing on Netflix

The interior of the flat now seems to be about 30°C or more everywhere, but the air conditioner is keeping the living room at no more than 25° so it’s bearable in here. No respite tonight, when it’ll get no lower than 20°; I thought of doing the early run to Not-as-Big Sainsbury’s, but it’ll already be 24° or higher by 8am so I’m leaving it

At least I remembered to buy ice cream in advance this time. Might have some of that in a bit

Sunny. Not a cloud to be seen from my vantage point. Currently 32 degrees ('feels like' 35) with a high of 33 expected. The forecast overnight low isn't low at all. There might be a thunderstorm around 5-6 am which looks like it'll just make things more humid tomorrow. Barometer at 1017 mBar.

    Sunrise 04:45; Sunset 21:23 BST

Busy morning. Just the one 15 minute stand up at gig3, followed by me finally getting some inspiration for the work needed at gig2. Only 4 more billing days remain there

Lunch: leftover pork cutlet in a wholemeal bap with apple sauce

Up to 28°C here now. The air conditioner is managing to hold it down to a tolerable 25° in the living room

Visiting dad, which means the temperature is about 10C cooler than at home. Had a great night’s sleep last night, and looking forward to a pleasant (temperature wise) day today.
