Looked at the rest of my collection of photos, stone me I took a lot: dunno how many photos of rhododendron ponticum anyone needs but I seem to have taken the world supply. At least the cat photos are inneresting, much missed as she is, plus some photos of the days long gone when I had a niece and a nephew. .

Trouble is I can't remember the names of some of the people in there: 30 years ago for some of them.

Cloudy start, but the hot weather isn’t quite over yet: it’s already 20°C and will reach 27°, though the rest of the week will stay in the low twenties. The barometers are down to 996/1004mB

I’ve got to go to the GP’s for Yet Another Blood Test™ at lunchtime. It’ll be 25° at that point, which on past experience will probably lead to the nurse pointing out that “you’re sweating and look a little flushed, do you experience these symptoms often” and having to be reminded that while she’s been sitting in an air-conditioned surgery, I’ve been walking through the park in the sun

The Lockerbie thing seems quite good, judging by the first episode. Nice to see the Scottish police taking the FBI down a peg or two when they tried to muscle in as if they owned the place

Later, I finished reading The Parable of the Talents, in which things ultimately turned out OK

But that’s the end of that; she had intended to write three more books taking the story far into the future, but had terrible writer’s block for two or three years and had to abandon that plan, writing other books instead in her remaining years

Yeh, bluddy annoying when they stop selling favourite things, used to like those low sugar apple pies, Weight Watchers ready meals and various other things I can't remember.

They’ve also stopped making the Taste the Difference mango chutney that was the basis of my delicious BBQ sauce

Sainsbury’s have stopped doing the casserole mix

Sainsbury’s have stopped doing the casserole mix around which my oniony chicken casserole recipe had been carefully developed over the years, so tea has been the first attempt at concocting something to replace it. It didn’t turn out the same but it was very nice indeed, and along the right lines

To go with this, the first episode of The Bombing of Pan Am 103 on Netflix, a dramatisation of the events surrounding Lockerbie

First day back over and done with. A bit more hectic than I would have liked, but I suppose it gives me something to do

The shambolic transition to PSR continues to cause unnecessary hassle. This time, the agency they insisted we all transfer to has completely failed to do anything about my extension. Unless they get it together ASAP, I finish on Friday

I don't like the look of the forecast down south.

Those of us in the SE seem to have the worst of it. 32 today. Not a drop of rain for weeks. Good job I have some permanently shady bits at the bottom of my garden.
