<shush>You're forgetting the first rule of the clique.... Ah, actually you're not because you don't know it. That's because... You're not in it!</shush>
I've known for many years that I'll never be part of the clique.
You'll never be part of the CUK clique, so give up trying now.

I can't see it. MP's do have strict guidelines that some of them decided to abuse. The result is many slapped hands, a couple of ruined careers and some of them sent to gaol. The same would happen to us if we abused the system. There is a slight question of how hard they would come down on us compared to MP's but that is so old and boring it is hardly worthy of discussion.
Also, they are looked at as more like an employee claiming expenses, we are viewed using company taxation and company director law. Totally different rules.
I wish to state categorically that all lobsters, oysters and bottles of champagne purchased on behalf of MyCo have been used strictly for the purpose of maintaining business relations with important figures in the fields of business MyCo serves.
MPs are employees. We run businesses. The MPs' employer can set whatever expense policy it likes and allow them to claim for whatever they like. Then again, so can we. The difference is that MPs expenses definitely aren't a BIK, ours may be.
All these discsusions over contractors' expenses are because people really don't understand that it's about the BIK element, nothing else.

MPs don,t give a rats arse what they put through cause they know they will only get looked at occasionally and they only get a slap on the wrist anyway
Where as all contractors spend their day worrying about whether or not every claim they put through will be scrutinised down to the last meal receipt
Christmas party receipt anyone
Those that went to gaol will be getting a couple of slaps ok but it won't be on the wrist!!
