So does Hector come after him for not putting alternative income on his Self Assessment? It's bad enough he's made 390K profit but not having to pay tax on it is inexcusable.Originally posted by Protagoras View PostFunds obtained, £565k

That's exactly what he should forfeit.
NHS pension should be forfeit along with any entitlement to state pension from NI paid during the employment. And, of course, any private pensions should be fair game.
Plus, I wonder how much digging was done into where the missing funds went, what gifts were made.

I remember my Dad telling me about a postmaster in the Woking sorting office who got nicked for stealing post. Had a very cunning ruse that took investigtors months to figure out how it was done. He was a couple of years away from retirement and lost his entire pension because he was sacked for gross misconduct.

NHS fraud
I wonder how many used to get away with this stuff?
https://news.stv.tv/west-central/ex-...ayment-or-jail
An ex-NHS manager who stole £565,000 from the health service has been ordered to return a quantity of the stolen money or face jail.
Thomas Elrick, from Motherwell, was sentenced to three years and eight months in jail after pleading guilty to a single charge of fraud by abuse of position in 2023.
The 58-year-old admitted to defrauding the now defunct NHS Harrow Clinical Commissioning Group out of £564,484 in his former role as an assistant managing director, where he could approve and sign off on invoices up to £50,000.
On Thursday, the NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA) was granted a confiscation order that forces Elrick to return £175,000 that he defrauded or face a two-year jail sentence.
