Did I say 600 was a great rate? Did I say I don't want to show my face? Why you lying?
I don't want to commute to Birmingham twice/week. That's enough reason to reject a role unless you're desperate, I didn't even get to rate negotiation before saying no.
Your comments about warren buffet are just a reflection on yourself.
it's all utter bullsh1te. Pretty much everything he says.
He rejects £600 a day gigs because of the client wanting to see a face, rather than because the rate is low. But thinks he's Warren sodding Buffet with his business acumen.
He reckons £600 is a great rate, and he's only rejecting it due to pomposity and self-delusion.
Conclusion.... he's a likely a half decent techie man-child, but doubtful with that attitude he'd be anywhere longer than 6 months as everyone thinks he's a pompous prick.
I recon there's probably a handful of £1k+ people on here.
And a decent number of £600 - £850.
Most of whom are not pompous bell ends. And offer advice/guidance based on experience. Very few of them spend any time blowing themselves off for likes as they are gown up.
Nice story.

Why would you refer someone you've never met, who you have no idea if they're any good? I would only refer someone I know. Referrals reflect back on the referrer.

I find most clients these days are offering either totally remote or hybrid roles. Looks like it's the minority that are insisting on fully onsite. A lot of firms have also downsized their office footprint.
