    Some of their material uses plant fibres. I've got trainers made from pineapple (!), although they don't really resemble leather.

    That was one of the points I've already made which d000hg has answered.

    These ladies like some of their comrades ignore the fact that oil and oil byproducts are a major part of every day life. So when they turn up to protest they really need to be careful of what they are wearing e.g. tights, leggings and their hair as well as where they are protesting.

    Swings and roundabouts. The point is that in and of itself oil is not a bad thing. Environmentally it's generally a good thing outside of it being used for energy. Which is why we need to use nuclear power whose enivomental damaging footprint is SO much smaller than coal, oil or gas.
