During some bench time doing a temp job packing plastic bottles into carboard boxes. Not allowed to sit down until lunch. Bloke running the injection moulding machine didn't turn up for work one morning and I was asked to run it. Got told off of making too many and packing them myself.

Two roles I have had were:
Student summer temping, loading large quantities of butter from a hopper into an industrial sized butter packaging machine, so the engineer's could test the newly constructed machines before they were shipped overseas. The factory floor was boiling hot in the July heat, with the butter stinking from having been re-used so many times. Put me off the stuff for several years afterwards.
Contracting wise, working on an IT project based at a cement plant in Wiltshire in the early 2000's. Where the very fine cement dust from the processing plant chimney was on everything underneath it. Cars, desks, monitors, keyboards and people. All new starters were advised to turn up for work in gardening clothes only. It was also next door to a large rubbish tip, so stank especially bad during the warmer months. But it was a great team, and it was quite amusing during the frequent video conferences with other areas of the world, where the mostly very formally dressed overseas employees had quite bemused looks on their faces staring back at us lot, who looked like a bunch of down and outs sat in our video suite.

Strange thing was, few years later I was in a 'regular job' with a visa etc. linked to the job. After about 3 years or so the boss laid me off and his response to my asking for (the local version of) redundancy was to tell me he knew I'd just started dating a local girl (whom I've now been married to for 22 years!) and that if I insisted on my 3 months' pay in hand, he'd report me to the immigration department as my visa would now be invalid (as it was linked to the job) and I'd get deported and never see my girlfriend again.
I love Israel and (almost all) Israelis, but one or two of them could have done with a kicking

Every so often the pressure would push the wad out of the pipes and the trench would get a gush of raw sewage.
Job lasted a couple of days and at the end the boss told us all to pee off and he wasn't paying anyone - his attitude was we couldn't report him to anyone as we'd end up getting deported!
I hope he got his comeuppance somehow.
