God, today's was tricky. It was a French word, and I only got it on my final attempt, and even that wouldn't have happened if I hadn't been fairly lucky at the outset!

I often want to play more than once but I think I'd argue the one-a-day is part of the selling point. In a world of on-demand and boxset binging, the concept of "no you just get one" brings anticipation and makes it a talking point. More like your newspaper crossword.

I agree, it's a really well done project. So simple, but so slick. I think the creator is a serious developer though not some kid hacking code, so probably not an accident.

I really like Wordle, it's so simple but sometimes frustrating that you can only play once a day.

Word Master is exactly the same game but lets you play as many times as you want. I have noticed the words are a bit more difficult than Wordle. My average number of guesses is around 5 rather than 4 in Wordle and for first time ever, I failed to get one.

I was sticking with Globle ( https://globle-game.com ) but have had a play at Nerdle and that might go on the list too.

I like Quordle but it is far more annoying.
My wife found one where it actively works to stop you getting it right, as in it gives you the absolute minimum information and the word can change mid-way through.

Wow! I did today's Wordle in two tries. What a star! (although it was solely by chance)

    Spoiler alert ..

    My first guess was "BRING"

Do it in the morning over a cuppa. Mostly get it in four, twice I've done it in two, only completely failed once. Good fun but there is an element of luck in it; yesterday I had a choice of at least three words with one missing letter and guessed wrong twice...

Nerdle - the daily numbers game (nerdlegame.com) is where it is.

Make the most of it while you can. The New York Times have just bought it so expect to end up paying in some way. Adverts, data harvesting, paywall etc.
