Not necessarily Darwin. Cause of death is not known. They were taking drugs and sniffing glue it seems. (Reading the Times of India report).

Despite intensive medical treatment, doctors were forced to amputate the man's legs above the knee and all but one of his fingers. The patient's penis fell off by itself, doctors said.

But, looking on the bright side as ever, he still has one finger left to pick his nose with, assuming, of course, that he still has a septum.

IIRC that story appeared in New Scientist back in 1988, on the same page as another story about a new disease in cattle and worries about what exactly went into meat pies.

Ah, he got a Darwin Award:

Just on a side note, while looking at this I found you can now buy a glitter bomb to add a bit of extra sparkle to your vajazzle.
Vaginal Glitter Bombs - Vaginal Enhancements (marieclaire.com)

Never ceases to amaze me what people are willing to do to their bits.

EDIT : That said, when you see a lady wandering round the club like this at least there is no confusion about her sexual preference..

Well, as it happens, there is already a product on the market to seal the penis up to stop pregnancy. There is an article in the Daily Fail about it back in 2017 and you can still buy it...

Jiftip's sticker that seals penis shut won't stop STIs | Daily Mail Online

So as bizarre as it sounds, just sealing the penis doesn't appear to be a problem. In the article it talks about it not stopping STI's and the like. Doesn't mention anything about issues around sealing the old man up.

So you'd assume the fact he did this and his multiple organ failure are completely unrelated...
