    Chicken.

Also back then offshoring & onshoring was rife and blatant a dozen blokes on minimum wage would arrive at a uk airport to take over a significant system having very little knowledge of IT. Since the minimum visa wage went up it seems to have slowed down. I suppose if the reason is "they are cheap" doesn't work the companies don't bother.

Though I suspect in the Government's attempt to attract 'talent' (don't get me wrong there are some brilliant Indian guys but they tend to above the level that gets sent to do onshore work) its going to start again.

Note the Indians who get degrees are frequently middle & upper class Indians its not like we are providing charity.

Did doing that on here just go out of fashion or was it eventually considered just poor form by members, or was it deemed racist/politically incorrect and banned by those in power who run CUK?

I agree with Brillo it was the suggestion that the blacks were not welcome (damn).

I suspect his annoyance was at the misuse of genocide not because they were black, slavery was never about killing slaves , they were valuable property you wouldn't set fire to your Tesla if it broke down would you?

Transporting slaves by the Europeans after the 14th century (when we started buying slaves in Africa) resulted in 20% attrition rate not far from the sailors death rate, the Arabs who bought half the slaves the Africans sold (~100% 7th to 14th century) on average had 80% die on a short ocean journey.

Slavery Today << Free the Slaves

New slavery has two chief characteristics—it’s cheap and it’s disposable. Slaves today are cheaper than ever. In 1850, an average slave in the American South cost the equivalent of $40,000 in today’s money. Today a slave costs about $90 on average worldwide.

Genocide, Apartheid, hero and slavery are terms misused constantly in our culture, intent is a large part of their use. Hitler deciding to wipe out all Jews (or blacks or disabled) that was genocide because he meant to do it. In India there were repeated famines were they only Genocides when the British were there even if they did not intend it to happen? I imagine Dr Starkey was annoyed by the use of the term to make Slavery seem worse when he knows Slavery was endemic, supported by the majority of Africans and the British Empire stopped it.

Starkey stated that "Slavery was not genocide otherwise there wouldn't be so many damn blacks in Africa or Britain would there?"

Nothing to do with using the term blacks. It was used of the word "damn" and the possibility his words could be twisted to condone slavery.

There are some really STUPID people out there who misinterpret, Like those who point to the Chinese re-education camps. And get accused of genocide. What f**ktard would be that stupid, NAT?

Thanks to this thread I noticed a MLK success moment this morning. My youngest playing WII "just dance" with her friend (who my wife minds) who is half African/white British. I remembered that the WII was a common thing with her friends of all colours before lock down.

This actually was quite interesting (you can download the pdf for free) its suggesting that the N word was actually a mispronunciation of Negro by the slaves themselves and therefore it has a sort of pride internally. However it became an epithet when non black folks used it to describe black people as "lesser".

The Etymology, Evolution and Social Acceptability of '******', 'Negro', and 'Nigga' by Calvin D. Fogle :: SSRN

He also asserts the word Negro was originally more of a marketing term than an insult which does sort of make sense with its use, it has since become an insult.

    28 pages on the N word !

oh cheers interesting reading, I sort of suspected that sort of thing was going on but lets hope they smoke it out, having good ethnic minority MPs and supporting them is the only way we will calm racial tension. I want to see these sort of racially motivated scum as reviled as the BNP.
