    The revolution devours its children?

Founder of race charity which sent 'n***o' tweet to a Tory pundit DUMPED by Leeds Beckett University | Daily Mail Online

Leeds Beckett University DROPS race adviser and founder of charity which sent vile tweet calling black Tory pundit a 'house n***o' as it condemns the 'use of racist language'

    • The Race Trust tweeted a racist slur at Conservative pundit Calvin Robinson
    • Following heated discussion on BBC he was branded a 'house n***o' by charity
    • Charity denies founder Aysha Khanom wrote post, claiming an ex-employee did
    • Ms Khanom dropped from role at Leeds Beckett University shortly after tweet
Speaking on Sunday's programme, Mr Robinson explained how he personally had seen a rise in racist attacks this year from some people who considered his Black identity to be incompatible with his Conservative views. He said: 'There has been increasing racism this year, I personally have experienced more racism this year than I have in my entire adult life.
'That's because of Black Lives Matter and critical race theory being pushed. This idea that there's an appropriate way to be black.
'For example I have been called bounty, uncle Tom, house n***o for not having the right opinion.'
Well Mr Robinson will pick up a few votes from normal people for talking a lot of sense.

Good lord, the papers can't even print 'negro' now? It might not be a word we'd use but it's hardly the big N.

the N word is used in rap and in a lot of films. But 'negro' while insensitive is not in the same league. To quote it in a news story is hardly a slur though you might not put it in the headline.

Precisely the double standards surrounding race and language are right at the heart of this story.

Trouble is, what's offensive keeps changing. Coloured was ok once, then it became racist and replaced by black, now it's "people of colour". We are going round in circles. We used to have a charity called The Spastics Society.

Unfortunately just as we settle in people abuse the terms. Also history intevenes, Coloured was a term in law in the US & SA that holds bad meanings.

Here we have a chap who is just trying to get on and he is being attacked by racist and politically motivated people of colour. This is a new phase in the equality history just as BLM is.

How am I going to order a Negroni now? Surely won't have to ask for 1/3 Campari, 1/3 red vermouth, 1/3 gin over ice served with orange peel, I might be ok for the first one, but after that all bets are off!

Agreed. But the issue was being called a house negro. In that context it is racist. Why bring race into it at all?

I suppose it is too much to ask that people are treated as people regardless of race, religion, gender?

Which is annoying as that was going to be my defence in court after being caught in the ladies toilets....

I like to think society is improving.
