    Agreed, pretty stupid idea. We have a 'green' parliament in town and they keep comin gup with some stupid ideas. The main city ring used be so that you would get a 'green wave' when driving down it so that all traffic lights would be green as you approached them keeping the traffic flowing, now you have to stop at every one.     They get it to work in The Netherlands so pedestrians can cross as well.

    In fact a couple of London junctions have traffic lights like the Dutch ones.

    Undertakers, you mean? It's not as if they have little else to do at the moment. Will they have this system at pedestrian crossings? Something else to keep the old folks locked up indoors for fear of imminent death...

    Yeah that's absolutely tragic.

    During the first few weeks of lockdown you could actually breathe the air in central London. It was really nice to get a break, didn't choke on the diesel like normal.

    I don't think this is the solution though. Need something way more aggressive.

    Oh I completely agree government have failed to deal with this for decades. We aren't quite like Detroit was but our air is hardly mountain pure.

    Of course we now expect cyclists to exercise in lethal smog.
