    Did a stint working for AOL a few years ago, before Carphone Warehouse took over some of it. We were offered discounted rates as permies .... even so, not many took it up! Awful interface built for the less intelligent US market. can't think why AOL didn't succeed

    MF, GMX is the answer - Short email address, and a much nippier email app than Yahoo or (presumably) AOL
