Why is the breaking news, or news for a matter of fact, I assume this an attempt to bash the tories for doing the same thing that all the other political parties will be doing? Jo Swinson is in line to be offered a life peerage from the Lib Dems.

The HoL is a joke, but then again it's always been, the 1999 act has in turn made things worse given the number of peers in the chamber at the moment

A Life Peerage is for... er, life, not just for Brexit. Or something like that.

Of course you'll have read "The Cabinet Manual".

Temporary cabinet position as a non-MP

Though I thought a peerage took longer than this - is there a special mechanism whereby you get it automatically if you are asked to remain in a position without being an MP?

Will they be able to attend Commons to talk in their cabinet capacity or have to deputise an actual MP?

It's amazing that after hundreds of years of almost no reform at all, there are a faction of people who believe they've taken back control.

You could at least make an effort to find out how it all works.

Edit: my bad. 19 members of the Euro, given the context of the Eurogroup.

I'm glad we're leaving the corrupt, undemocratic EU.
And Nicky Morgan, who stepped down as an MP and said she'd never serve in a Johnson cabinet.

I would say if a MP lost their seat it's a clear signal the voters don't want him anymore so it's an insult to the constituents to immediately reinstate this guy as a peer for life.

It's the shamelessness of a Government that’s been twatting on about the “corrupt and unelected EU” giving a lifelong peerage on day 4 because their MPs are too tulip to fill all the posts.
Not the only one, Nicky Morgan’s got one too.

    Giving them out like candy....
